Hi everyone,

I'm currently trying to maximise my passive income through datacore farming and PI (semi-passive i know).
Are their any other ways to generate passive income ingame?

Thanks.

Start a corp, have it become successful, then go "away due to broken Internet" and accidentally leave tax on 15%.

Disclaimer: I do not actually play this game, I just forum warrior.

Well not TRULY passive but doesn't require a lot of intervention....

1> make stuff like Scourge Fury missiles. sell them like hotcakes in jita or caldari space... takes about ....4-5 days? to make a 10 run bpc worth....so basically check ur jobs once a week and throw new batch in after harvesting ur planets for rocket fuel to make them.

2. Copy BPO/Reserach to: just train some alts...ro mains if u want....adn have them research up bpos...in particular when u start talking about things like cap components this is great way to make 20% profit for doing nothing other than a few clicks every 14 days ....but requires a lot up front investment wise. Doing this with stuff like t1 invulnerability fields just wont cut it....but ships high end stuff.....

Again they are truly passive but checking in every week or two isnt so bad either :-)

Blueprint copying which at most only need you to something once a month or so. You would need a lot of money to sink into it to get it started though

researching BPO's
Copying Bpos people will invent/build ( if larger like super cap)

assuming u can resell a bpo a few mil above research cost and npc price u will profit
copies can also potentiall make isk, inventors dont need specific ME/PE on the copy, but depending on the item number of runs matters... it might be worth trying.

manufacturing is possible, market fluxuations can make u lose isk.

Datacore farming is the only 100% gurenteed passive isk. if u focus on that it might be better for u

*bonus the skills for datacore farming can also help with invention chance of success.. so if u decide to get 2 skills to 5 try and make it something that invention can profit from if u decide to try it.
example, rockets + mechanical = missile launcher rig invention

I refuse to buy PLEX with real money.
It looks like I'll be doing some datacore farming :)

Manufacturing is a nice side income, as mentioned. To keep it semi-passive, make ranged buy orders (watch prices). Refining loot may even be all you need to do. Keep in mind, selling minerals gives someone else the profit margin.

If you have not read the QEN (QEN_Q4-2010.pdf), do so. It will tell you the highest selling items in Eve.

My advice is to build a surplus of what you use and sell the excess. If something does not sell well, it is never wasted.

If you're going to count PI as a passive income then moon mining is also passive. You can make about a billion a month from that with the right moon...

I'm afraid, that I have yet to understand the fine difference between active income and passive income :I

Is it supposed to mean something to do at the side of what one usually does? Or maybe a money-generating activity that demands little attention?

Passive Income means "I don't have to log in or click buttons to make money". The only truly passive form of income is running a mission-running corporation and simply setting the tax to 5% and encouraging plenty of folks from NPC corps to come join you.

Datacore farming does require effort: you have to wander off to talk to your R&D agents every now and then to pick up the data cores that they've produced (well, there's also the step of converting the RP they've accrued into data cores, but that's a non-issue).

PI requires a little more effort than data cores, since you have to interact with your planet at least once every week or so.

Moon harvesting is extremely effort-intensive since you have to patrol space, fight off people trying to blow up your station, and remember to collect moon goo every now and then otherwise the silo fills up and your POS will stop collecting goo.

Apparently I can't turn that into a URL because there are "issues rendering this posts BBCode"?
