Bitcoin for Plex?

Why doesn't CCP setup Bitcoin as method of payment for plex? Yes it's volatile but if you peg it against the Mx Gox index your fine.

This would let all of us with Bitcoins and Litecoins an alternative to government backed currencies, and it is still liquid enough for CCP to easily convert to whatever they like.

Let all embrace the new crypto-currency age.

Why because there was volatility in the market? As long as you buy/sell immediately your not exposed to that. Don't spec trade it, but cash out as soon as the order comes in.

Use Canadian Dollars instead of bitcoins, much safer than the vapor-currency south of the border.

The thefts didn't cause much of an issue. USD has so much more in terms of theft. (trust me I work a commodity trading corp)


Bitcoins are volatile, I grant you that. I mean it hit 260 and the last trade right now is 109.


But the platform is sound, and in more the 4 years no one has been able to hack it.

Why not offer an exchange rate pegged at the Mt-Got price?

There is a big tax liability in the US with using bitcoin. Say you accept bitcoin when it has a value of say $5 and then use it when it has a value of $20 dollars you have a capital gain of $15 to pay taxes on plus you have to pay a sales tax. Also if you accept it when it has a high value even if it goes down you have to pay a sales tax on the higher value.

Only people who are challenged by math and tax law would use bitcoin.

Because they're doing perfectly well with their own imaginary currency.

You can't pay employees in bitcoins. You can't buy servers with bitcoins. It won't be a real currency until you can spend it on lutefisk, imported norwegian hookers, and fermented shark.

Not sure I want fermeted shark... But you can buy computers, gold and a ton of other stuff. Amazon Fuifillment accepts bitcoins.
