drone navigation computer will get warrior 2s going at least 7km/s maybe more.. I say no to the nerf bat... a person in a 1-2 billion isk clone should have some advantage over someone in a 20mil isk ship + fit

Was curious and plugged it into PyFA. With 1 Drone Nav warrior 2's are going 8.1km/s, with 2 they're going 10.3km/s. Bit of a specialized fit for a counter, but it's doable.

It would be interesting to test this out in practice. To my experience the main problem with drones and speed is that they do very low damage. This is caused by the fact that they catch up... maybe give a shot and then the turn off MWD which means they fall back. It then takes again a lot of time for them to catch up and maybe give a shot again and the cycle repeats.

Way I see it you shouldn't be able to solo with a regular t1/2 fit someone who has spent a ton of ISK on pirate implants and so on. (Granted actual player skill and experience gap might make it a different story).

With skirmish links interceptors easily clocks up way past 9km/s without snakes even and bonus to scram/point range should let you keep tackle on them, throw in some backup to actually kill the hookbill or whatever and maybe a burst/bantam to keep your interceptor alive. Sure you just had to use 2-3 pilots to kill one but then eve has never been about being fair.

No, speed Is one of the last bastions of solo PvP, leave it alone, hell, make things faster.

BTW arty cane or muninn can be used quite effectively against these ships with a bit of practise.

In other words, if you want to pvp in eve, you better get a booster alt. EVEONLINE -> ALTSONLINE

OP, ganglinks as a whole are way overpowered not just the speed boosts.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Unfortunatelly they (as well as Recon Ships) can't enter a novice or small plex. So they are not a viable option in many cases.

So when links need to be on grid your problem will be solved, as they won't be able to enter either.

Have you ever found any indication that CCP will really fix this issue with offgrid boosts? I just remember reading here and there that there are some technical issues with fixing this which might hinder a fix.

I just want to advocate for removing the ridiculouse speed boosts which are provided by Snakes and Offgrid Boosters. Hookbills going over 7000m/s or 9000m/s with heat is completely nonesense, because they arecompletely safe from missiles or drones. Even long range guns have big troubles since they are out of range before you even get a lock or manage to press the fire button.

Removing Speed Boosts would in my opinion solve also most issues with Offgrind Boosters in general. Speed boost simply provides too much power through range control and it breaks the speed rule: you are either fast and fluffy with dps of a wet noodle or you are slow and sturdy/ganky.

As a replacment for the speed boosts (for both, Snakes and Offgrid Boosters) I propose they just provide a bonus for the reduction of overheating damage for modules. So you can use and overheat your modules longer.

Oh man, how dare they counter your missiles and drones by using speed!

I don't see why fitting a sensor booster and some long range guns won't help your situation.

Why not use your brain to beat the enemy instead of whining to CCP?

there could be a warning implemented to protect nooblets.
once a ship is asked to go past structural intergrity, then itll pop up and ask. you can always turn it off for the future.

No, your idea is bad. We don't need arbitrary speed restrictions.

I'm guessing this horse has been beaten to a pulp multiple times already, but off-grid boosts are the real problem here, methinks.

Methinks there is no problem.

Methinks this thread is just a whine from a worthless blobber who can't blob a solo pilot smart enough to counter his playstyle.

The problem is not the boosting. The problem is the off grid boosting. Solve the 2nd and the 1st will be solved also Cool

I posted 2-3 solutions above one of which works fine without having to use links of your own to counter the other person's links.

The problem is lack of creativity, people wanting quick easy ganks. (Or just people mistaking eve for being a fair game).

That said gated deadspace areas that only allow certain ship classes in and prevent gangboosts working at all on grid or off grid would probably go a long way to making everyone happy.
