Cosmic Signatures

I've been scanning a bit (have 8 nullsec systems that I usually do a scanning pass per day thru, right after downtime) and the last 3-4 day no new signatures have appeared. Since this might be down to extreme bad luck on my part (it has never happened that I haven't gotten at least one new sig in these 8 systems before) I didn't want to post this as a bug until I knew if this is happening to other people as well?

So, has anyone else noticed a marked downturn in cosmic signatuers?

Note that exploration site spawning does not obey random laws.

When a site you scanned despawns, it respawns in some other system (or even in the same one, although with very likelyhood). If they spawn in systems where nobody is scanning down, they will never respawn somewhere else (until scanned down). Over time they will all tend to cluster in the few systems where people do not usually goes.

Which makes sense, it's exploration, after all.

I thought they despawned after 4 days and respawned somewhere else? Or is that only if they have been scanned?

they despawn after 4-5 days, and then respawn in a similar constellation (IIRC) ... so if you're in an 8-system constallation with the majority having sec status being -0.3, the sites will spawn in another constellation with a majority of -0.3 systems (I don't think the number of systems matters, since they're kind of all over the place).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

From what I know they despawn 3 days after having been found (or immediately after warping out after hitting their despawn trigger). I don't remember any evidence about them despawning 4 days no matter what. Besides, that would not account for the occasional desert system literally littered with sites.

But I have been out of the loop for a while, so things might have been changed in the meanwhile.
