The role of battleships

Battleships, they used to be what i craved for when i started this game. Not the capitals but the mightiest subcapitals with most firepower, range and endurance that was respected.

Now with the tier3 battlecruisers you can have similar or even more dps and range than a battleship in extremely mobile platform, they lack the endurance of the battleship but make up for it with their speed. Speed tanking is actually very effective form of tanking also. But here is the problem, the speed is actually so good they are actually reaching too good survivability.

Talos for example is way more effective at running L4 missions than any of the battleships when flown right.

Honestly battleships don't have that majestic feeling anymore, other than the endurance for blobs they offer nothing else that really makes them attractive.

With the battleship balance i was hoping for them to differentiate the battleships and tier3 battlecruisers but what actually happened is that they came even closer of each other making tier3 battlecruisers to look the better choice unless the endurance while not moving does matter. Oh and let's not forget how rest of the frigates and cruisers were buffed also.

Mobility and firepower has always been the #1 thing everyone wants from their ships, now they get them both in single package called tier3 battlecruisers, too bad that comes at the cost of battleships... Ability to use micro jump drives aren't enough, battleships need to be the dps and range kings of the subcapitals or atleast have their base ehp increased considerably.

True. CCP have strange way of thinking. Firstly they create something - battleships entirely, marauders in role of PvE battleship, t2 cruisers... After that they create new content, wich makes previous shipos and modules allmost useless. Today attack BC have more turrets than few BS, EWAR of NPC rats and noctis makes usability of marauder class doubtfull, T3 cruisers much much more usable than T2 cruiser and even BC counterparts (except heavy dictors).
ABC must have not firepower effiency of the BAttleship, or batleships must buffed really greatly (T2 included).
I have two different fealings about this: first of all according to the entire rebalance programm CCP understands this, but on the other hand situation with "nerf" of ABC in Odyssey force me to be pessimistic a bit...

Indeed ABC's make battleships largely obsolete in any arena where mobility is more useful than tank.
- remove a turret from ABC's
- make them a T2 ship as they are a specialization of a bc hull using large turrets like T2 logi use large reppers
-nerf mobility and scan res
- give T2 resists in exchange
- maybe reduce damage bonus a little like they have with resist bonus on battleships.

Also they need to buff battleship mobility a lot...
