FW Duel standing loss.

A friend and I were out running sites in FW when a pirate destroyed his ship, so he asked me to pod him to speed up his return trip. I engaged him in a duel before firing. Immediately after his pod popped I suffered a 75% standing loss. Is this a mistake? Do duels not protect you from standing losses?

You still killed a member of your militia, regardless of the situation. Common sense would say that in a duel it does not matter, but apparently it does.

Duels don't include podding IIRC.

Duels do include podding. The way CCP phrased it it doesn't sound like it does but the timer doesn't end when your ship pops.

Seems militia standings hits ignore duels.

Would be interesting to hear what CCP says in response to a petition of this. Doesn't sound right that it works like this.

Yes, we're going to die, but you're coming with us!

A duel just sets up a limited engagement between the 2 people, nothing else. That doesn't change any other mechanics.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Working as intended I guess.

Next time just wait the two minutes.

Or let the pirate pod you.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

Not surprised you took a standings hit, whether it is working as intended or not is another question.

I remembered this but had to dig to find it.
