Never really got to be in any big Drake fleets.

Did a small alliance drake fleet about a week before the BC changes to derp what we had sitting around.

We derped them all - mission successful.

Let's do a switcheroo this weekend. Caldari flies Myrmidon fleet. Gallente flies drakes.

PS- Don't miss drakefleets per se but miss BC gangs

My first awesome null roam as an FW noob years ago was in a Drake... we took on a Naglfar (I think) and popped it. Good times. :) I promptly died quickly and horribly to a 'cane. P

Yes, so much yes. Maybe not drakes per se with the rebalances, but bc+ fights absolutely.

A pleasing sign on the horizon is that recently i've seen a few squid gangs flying bcs again, excellent stuff! It's great to remember that while fw sov fighting is all frig to cruiser, we are not restricted to fighting in bloody plexes ALL THE F***ING TIME!!! (seriously it's like building a wall around your engagement options, an appeal to some fc's on both sides slipping into this mentality, think outside the plex once in a while.)

I can tell you on our side there are many people who love a chance to brush off the cobwebs on their bcs and bs.

From my own perspective, I don't enjoy flying with other people in small ships, you can't react (skirmish / kite / flee) as you need to while tied to another player, you tend to get them killed and they tend to get you killed. However, once you get to heavy cruiser upwards kind of level I love working with other people. Thing is, with the warzone as it is and everyone having a hard on for frig/dessy fleets, I'm not getting many opportunities to fly with others. More enemy bcs and bs in the area would help with that greatly! :)

Since the t1 cruiser buff, most bigger fights seem to revolve around that. Just remember if you plan on undocking a hard counterfleet, if you don't bait 'em out or they see you too soon--don't expect a fight. With the exception of occupancy--most of the fights in lowesec are consensual. I.E. fleets have to willingly commit most of the time.

It's ironic to see the risk adversion with many FC's regarding t1 cruisers (Galls, Pirates, yes even Squids) hasn't changed that much. 0.0 became a lot more loose and aggressive with it, but it's about the same here. Open up and get you a brawl! There's no need for 4 logi + ewar + links + whatever as a hard counter a kitchen sink fleet with little/no support roaming around. That's just a recipe for blueballs.

*edit* remember like 2 years ago when I hotdropped my triage alt on every other fleet I was on. Someone referred to it as pandora's box. It's hard to get away from that image once you start Cool Everyone that knew me expected triage, even when I wasn't using it. I'm really trying to avoid that right now for the sake of fun brawls.

A lot of folks probably still have [REDACTED] still watchlisted.

I've got a serious question for you, though. There was this one time last year where you brought some BS out to chase a Julius bunker busting gang out in Athounon / Mercomesier. Thing was, the constellation was under incursion. Incursions mean cyno jammers. Both our gangs wait for one to jump into the other while an unfortunate Rote Kapelle alpha 'nado fleet rolls through most of your EWAR. Coincidence of all coincidences, the incursion ends while we're all on opposite sides of the same gate. We finally brawl, you drop, we counter drop hard, a carrier dies on each side, you guys bail off, RK comes in and they blap most of our small stuff and leave. All this to say... did you plan on fighting in a cyno-jammed system, or did you plan on not having it and reacted when incursion miraculously dropped?

The goal of the fleet was to hotdrop, it was announced before the fleet even left ichoriya.
