Stealth change on how ratting affects standings?

I might not be posting this in the right forum section, so please excuse me. It is not about missions or complexes, that's why I didn't post it there.

I sent a petition to the GM about this but got some confusing answer.

2-3 months ago I was ratting serpentis like a madman and I didn't recieve any standing penalty - both faction and corp remained the same (I checked my standings every day). Now I tried ratting again and I noticed that I am recieving standings penalties for doing so - I am losing serp corp standing. Last year I was into exploration and got my Angel faction standing to -10, and the angel corps standing didn't change.

So which is normal and which isn't ? Should I expect losing standings when I rat or should I not ?

I read the patch notes usualy and I can't recall any of them mentioning any change of how ratting affects standings.
What I am sure was the case before is: I do anomalies/scannable sites and lose severe faction standing; I rat on belts and still lose severe faction standing; I kill mission rats and lose severe faction standing with the rat's faction.

On some point this changed and I my standings ceased to drop whilst I ratted on belts (with the respective faction) - neither factional, nor with any of the faction's corporations.

Several days ago I decided to do some ratting again (belt rats) and noticed I am losing not factional but corporational standing (wtf?). So while I am killing serpentis rats in Fountain I am losing standings not with the Serpentis (faction) but with the Serpentis Corporation, meanwhile my standings with Serpentis Inquest haven't changed.

Has anyone noticed any change, or is what's happening with me a bug? Or maybe this was included in some stealth patch (but this doesn't make much sense to me).

So which is normal and which isn't?

Edit: Removed GM response.

Edit2: Although now that I think of it, removing of the GM response was a bullcrap. Now the post is not full and I feel readers wouldn't be able to understand 100% of what I was originaly trying to say. What I think is that you might get *banned* or your post get deleted for containing GM/ISD/CCP words in it if they (the words) were meant to be used in a derogatory context. My post wasn't meant as such.

If you want to say something on the topic of ratting and it's corelation to factional and corporational (NPC) standings, please do. Otherwise, please leave.

Patch notes
...
Fixed an issue where negative corp or faction standings were not being applied after killing certain NPCs.
...

You and everyone else for few short months didn't take any standings hit, cause CCP *** up in one of the previous patches (before 1.1 Retribution), and somehow disabled standings hit. With Retribution 1.1 it was fixed...

Thank you for your reply.

It seems that I've missed that part in the patch notes. Though I can confirm that I am still not losing factional standings. Only corporational.

Stealth changes are cool. They separate the boys from the men.

Also, you shouldn't really be posting correspondence between you and a GM.. the forum mods don't like it..

This...

And don't faction standings go up/down much slower than corp standings?
