Guristas and jamming

Once upon a time, i lived in branch, about 17 months ago. Guristas rats were a pain because they would occasionally perma jam you out. I would have to warp away, warp back in and try my best to kill the jamming npcs before they could restart their cycle of jamming me.

I would like to know some figures on guristas jamming. like the following..........

If my sensor strength is at 31 on a battleship will it get jammed out. If I put on a eccm and bump it up to 62 will I ever be jammed out.

Is there a target sensor strength i should be aiming for to avoid all jamming.

Also, if I'm flying a smaller ship, like a strategic cruiser, how does a smaller ship with a smaller sensor strength deal against jamming rats?

thanks

Fitted meta 4 ECCM on a Tengu for ratting in Venal. Jamming was never an issue. Dunno about larger hulls though.

There is this ship called the Ishtar. It doesn't have many problems with jamming.

I have messed around with joke set ups with multiple ECCM - you still occasionally get jammed, but it is less frequent.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Today, I had a level 2 mission against Guristas. I was perma-jammed the entire fight. Fortunately, I also had some drones. I had to depend on the drones to take on the entire mob of Guristas. It worked. Unfortunately, they took out the ewar ships last so I couldn't get any blows in, myself.

Does anyone bother training sensor compensation skills? Or use ECCM?

its a problem when you're trying to kill frigates with sentries before they get in range.... But yeah, it generally has no problems.

Since I am a new player, and new to cruisers, and this being the first time I have faced ewars, that would be a "no".

Well now you know....

Yes and ECCM works against Guristas. You still get jammed occasionally but not even close to perma jammed.

In this particular fight, that I was talking about, my drones easily took out all of the bad guys. I never even got scratched. I have a missile boat which keeps me out of range of most of them (since most of them use projectile weapons).

For now, ewar just doesn't seem like its worth worrying about. It simply isn't worth wasting a slot on an ECCM device when I so rarely encounter the problem. I suspect that when I get to level 3 missions that that will change, but right now, the problem is easily dealt with by using my drones and staying out of range of their projectiles.

Using an appropriate sized hull with at least 1 ECCM mid slot module (I use racial, not sure if omni is better) and decent sensor compensation should make it very tolerable.

35 of sensor strength is enough to not be permanently jammed by Guristas rats but still happens some times with faction or high bounty ones, nothing really annoying still.

Use the appropriate Leadership module on your Fleet Booster and train the anti-ECM skills.
