I've recently thought of an interesting solution to a very frustrating game mechanic: Autopilot. I would suggest that CCP sell, in their Nobel Exchange, a "Nav Computer" of sorts which would grant players the ability to "Warp to 0" while auto-piloting. I do not believe this would give an unfair advantage to any players, but would love to hear your thoughts.

Please don't suggest use of "third party" alterations to accomplish this, as it is clearly against the TOS.

suggestion to appease low-nullsec pilots - Allow module to only work in high-sec, blame it on some sort of "interference" or "connection refusal"

It gives an advantage to cargo carriers who are no longer vulnerable to pirates scanning their ships for the valuable GTCs they inevitably hold within. On the surface, it's a drawback to autopilot in exchange for the advantage of being able to set it and go do something.

On a second level, it promotes people actually playing the game instead of afk space trucking valuable goods all day erryday.

I am all for this.

They should also add a drone AI upgrade and an automated "MWD+cloak" routine to the NEX.

No wonder MTs are no great success for CCP when you can't by anything useful in the NEX.

god no

cloaky nullified tengu + this + rock on the cloak key would just make it godawfully easy to AFK haul stuff through nullsec

Remove warp to 0 fullstop.

And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell.

This should be in features and ideas discussion.

This is a horrible idea.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

And make it so you can't create bookmarks within 100km of a stargate. Solve the WTZ problem, and the server load problem at the same time.

Why not have a possibility of a jump calculation going wrong? Say 10% chance and a new skill which improves the chance of success by 1% per level?

When a ship fails its roll it randomly pops into space between 10km and 50km of its target.

No. A better solution would be to allow regular dictors to bubble in lowsec, but even that's a terrible idea.

Because being a trader, and buyign goods cheaply from one side of the universe, then jumping them 40 jumps thru highsec, is just totaly enthralling and interesting on so many levels.

I mean, you jump into a system, you click the yellow stargate, hit warp... wait.... click jump.....

load into the new system... click the yellow stargate... hit warp... wait..... click jump.....

Oh... 40 or so times.

Just thinking about it makes the hairs on my neck tingle with excitement.

I honest to god cannot understand why someone would want to getup and walk away from their PC when doing this, because its just SO MUCH FUN!!

I always suspected there would be people in EVE who genuinely enjoy doing very long cargo runs, and you, Sir are the first I have found.

I can make a pretty good guess that you also enjoy mining, since most no-bots find it very boring, but it seems to be perfectly suited to you.

Do you get a warm fuzzy tingling feeling every time you wait for a mining cycle to complete, or is it from warping to a station to drop off your ore?

I was being scarcastic Shocked While trying to prove a point that its boring as ****, hense the very reason people choose to autopilot.

Because picking up the turd you're pet dog just did in the back yard, realy is more amusing than going 40 jumps in an Industrial.

At no point should Warp to Zero and Autopilot be used in the same sentence unless it's to state that they should never be used in the same sentence (see what I did there?)

Autopilot is something allows you a little convenience, but at the cost of taking longer than doing all the jumps on manual. Warp to Zero is a convenience at the cost of having to stay at your computer and do all the jumps on manual. You want to use Autopilot? Go ahead, but there is a risk that someone will scan you down and find you worth popping on that 15k approach AND it will take time. You want it done faster and 'safer,' then stay at your computer and do it yourself.

There is nothing wrong with either option, but you cannot (and will not) ever have them combined to make things even easier for you.

Also, this is the wrong sub-forum for this post.

Its more so i want to play eve and be amused/interested in things which are classed as genuine gamepaly/essential to the sandbox enviroment.

Buying cheap one area and moving it to resell in another for profit = big part of the sandbox, or everyone would have to go to Jita to get what they wanted, if noone moved to other areas for resale.

Theres nothing fun, about clicking a stargate, clicking warp too, waiting, clicking jump, rinse repeat.

I, personaly, never agreed or said anything about needing autopilot to warp to 0

What i did heavily hint at is that players wouldent be asking for this if they found the process...interesting/fun....

How can they do that? I'll send you a million cookies if somene can actualy come up with something that is fun and viable/reasonable at the same time.

Edit: One cookie for myself for a popup game of Pong or other mini-games to be used/avaliable for those long hauls

The problem is that the eve universe was made much smaller during the initial warp to zero fiasco and it removed a lot of the challenge and conflict that would arise from travel. Autopilot is already a luxury and allowing people to apply warp to zero to it would once again make this universe smaller and would do nothing but reward AFK play further.

The advantage of a bad memory is that one can enjoy the same good things for the first time several times.

One will rarely err if extreme actions be ascribed to vanity, ordinary actions to habit, and mean actions to fear.

You sir, are an F'ing moron. I never mentioned selling anything in the shop that would give you an unfair advantage, in WoT the store was indeed heavily pay to win. I even suggested only allowing it to work in empire space. I was simply asking for input and I've received it, thank you for your time. Farewell.

P.S. All, I realize this is in the wrong forum, but until they add a way to move threads, It's stuck here. Thank you all.
