Handy Tip for both EvE and anywhere else where you have to deal with finicky computers and forums:

Before pushing Post or Preview, or anything else that can take you away from your current page, hit CTRL+A and then CTRL+C. When the forum throws your post into the memory hole (and it will, trust me) you can just hit CTRL+V and say "nya nya I win anyway!"

That's why I started to use a double window on my browser.

One for the forum I'm actually replying to and the other to type the reply in. Alt-tab prevents that the forum hamsters eat my post.

Or some of the times, I actually type my forum posts in wordpad first. But that is generally when I type a wall of text reply.

But in the end...your way is easy and a good tip.

The forums will also automaticly save a draft, so for when your writing those long walls of text and it times out while your typing (trust me i have that happen a lot) it will ask you if you want to load your previusly saved draft for the topic.
Btw, thank you CCP for adding that! Saved me so much frustration Big smile

While useful tips it's pretty ******* sad that in this day and age CCP still can't get a decent forum to work.

Be nice. Complaining about CCP will get some people who are very very strict about forum rules upset.P

You can complain about CCP all you want as long as it makes sense, isn't personal, isn't a rant and is kept it within reason. What they don't like is chastising newbies for no reason in newbie Q&A, which is why you get in trouble at times :)

It's not the official moderators that I'm worried about. It's the players who think they are the forum CONCORD.

I never knew this happens to everyone and thought it was just my browser being weird. The saved draft feature has always worked for me.

BTW J'Poll I like the casual look you are sporting. Are you keeping the current look now that the shirt issue has been fixed?

I'm keeping this look until I'm bored again...which is likely around this time next year (when a new FanFest HD stream is released).

I use Chrome so all I have to do is hit the back button, open the quick replay field again and repost. Chrome keeps it saved.

Draft is saved every, what, five words?

Just retyping the last five words after restoring your draft may actually be less trouble than sticking the whole post in your clipboard, depending what else you're doing.
