Bombs: A Theoretical Question

I understand that bombs don't uncloak cloaked ships, if I bomb a cloaked ship it remains cloaked. I get that. My question is this: If I /void bomb/ a cloaked ship and it drains that ships cap does it uncloak? I'm not doing damage, I'm just draining cap. A ship with no cap decloaks.

If normal bombs don't, a void shouldn't, as cloaks don't use any capacitor.

Huh, I've played this game for many years and never once realized that. I had to double-check it. Are they the only activatable module that does not consume cap? I admit I had always assumed that any module that had to be activated consumed some cap. Even though I prefer flying cloaky ships I have to say that seems a little cheesy. Oh well, you know what they say about assumptions. ;)

PS: Doing a quick check of the equipment list it looks like they're the only activatable module that does not consume cap. Wonder what the rationale is for that?

There isn't one its just bad design like FW plexes, Incursions payouts, Moon goo and Supercaps.

ib4 make bomb explosions uncloak ships and nerf afk cloaking and make cloaks have charges like asb and make dedicated cloaked ship hunter and any other thing that has been brought up again and again and again and again.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

It's a special type of fitting for sure but not alone in "activation" like that. It radically changes what you can and cannot use while the cloak is active.

Siege and Triage capital class modules radically effect how a ship works but have no activation costs either.

Surely related to the fact that they have no activation cycles of any kind. Furthermore, since cloaked ships cannot keep other modules activated or be effected by targeted cap warfare, adding a capacitor cost is almost completely pointless.
