Hi i want me and a couple corp buddies to come down to low sec and mine.I understand that lowsec is the wild west and would like some guidance on who owns or dominates which parts of low sec as close to amar as possible.
I would be obviously willing to pay for mining rights as i know that i can't just stroll in and start claiming the ore.

I want to pay the folk or faction who have about %90 of control in the area ,as i would like to mine in relative safety, i know that safety is not assured anywhere in eve but i figure if i pay the dominating force it will make my life much easier. Am i barking up the wrong tree and should stick to veld in high sec? BTW I'm no idiot so don't post asking for money i will reply to folk in game and we can come to some sort of arrangement.

Asking for permission is a very good way to let unscrupulous individuals know when and where your mining ships will be present to kill.

Just ninja in, mine the ore, and sneak out. Use scouts, and be ready to run like hell when required.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Unless they have a crystal ball then i don't see how they could know where I'm at cause i don't see anything in the OP to suggest otherwise.

Also, would seem like a waste of time them killing me cause there really just killing a potential source if regular income lol.

Assuming you're posting on your main, if anyone cared enough, they could add you to their watchlist and then just run locates on you. Since you've announced you'll be mining in low sec, this is essentially a 250k isk kill. (The cost of running a level 4 locate).

not my main, and if there willing to go around all of low sec when I'm online had that been my main for a mere 250k kill then they deserve it lol.

Since you aren't posting on your main, you're probably good in this instance.

But you clearly misunderstood what a locator agent does. It is an NPC that will take your money and then return within a few minutes giving the location of whomever you ran the locate on. In this case, you, AFK, in a low sec system. They wouldn't be running all over low-sec trying to find you, they would go to the specific system.

No one "owns" low sec space. If you pay some kind of mining fee, there's nothing to prevent someone else from coming along and blowing up your ships...because the people you paid certainly aren't going to offer any kind of protection. Most likely, they'll just take your money, then gank you themselves.

You could pay some mercs to hang around the belt and fend off any pirates but they'll likely ask for more than it's worth to you. Just go ninja. It will be more fun. Or bring your own security. That would be even more fun.

Nobody "claims" or "owns" certain areas of lowsec. It is open to everyone, therefor security is hard to provide. Honestly, I think most people would simply take your money and shoot you. Free isk for them. You are better to all jump in Ventures, scan down a gravimetric site, and ninja in and get out.

OP posts in Erotica 1's thread claiming the concept of people willing to double isk is ridiculous then makes this thread.

I once looked into low sec mining awhile back. Unless you have to have it for manufacturing and not simply right click selling, or even hauling it back to Jita and throwing it on the market, Low-Sec ore isn't worth it. If anything bring in a Venture and ninja gas harvest.

If you're set on mining ore in Low-sec my honest opinion is ninja mining with a venture. It would be great to find a suitable Low-sec system right next to a high-sec system using the HS system as your base of operations and transport the ore back and forth; either by setting up a safespot and jet-can the ore there and use a fast indy during off hours with a scout and haul the ore, or transport the ore each cargo load (not really the best way, but it is a Venture). Granted you will be moving back and forth often and that will kill time. If you could locate a deadspace/exploration belt, that would be better. You could also set up insta undocks/redocks at a station in the low-sec system if you wanted to keep it there for whatever reason.

Gate camp isn't going to get you in a venture most of the time unless it's a disco gate came, then you're dead. If there's a gate camp when you bring in the indy, unless you're using a fast Blockade runner, you're probably dead. Of course that's where the scout comes in.

Don't pay anyone. Odds are that will be a waste of ISK. Say you purchase this mining right from a Corp that resides in system Y, you're going to mine in system Y, why wouldn't you? So now they know at some point in time you and your corp/friends will be mining in that system, or at the very least close to it. Aside from that, locator agents once the Corp in question knows the names of you and your corpmates.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Paying someone might be worth while, but really if you're going to do that, you might as well head to null and rent some space.

Abandon all hope ye who x up in fleet

Meh.

Find a nice quiet lowsec system, with no stations in it (no place to dock up for intruders), build yerself a Death Star (I recommend using an Amarr large control tower), and claim the system for yourself.

War!!! Treachery!! Spais!!!!

Much fun will be had by you and your corp.

Also, build carriers. Lots and lots of carriers.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

This is like mining permits... Paying someone just means they won't pop you right away, but the next guy will...
