sun flashes?

most of the times when i have the sun in the right position, my screen flashes. has anyone else experienced this? if so, any idea on how to stop it?

[i]Stan Smith had a snow storm over weekend guy was shoveling snow outside, so i shot him and mined the snow myself. concord never showed up. on an unrelated note, i have a court date next tuesday[/i]

Do you have the latest available drivers for your graphics card installed?
ATI: www.amd.com
nVidia: www.nvidia.com

Also see if resetting your graphics card settings in either the nVidia control center or Catalyst Control Center solves the issue

The nVidia one is under Manage 3D settings > Global Settings
Lower right hand corner of Global Settings tab is a 'Restore' button.

the ATI one is under the Gaming section, there select "3D Application Settings"
Press the "Defaults" button at the bottom

This bug is at least a year old. Disable "Sun is occluded by objects" in the "ESC" menu as a work around.
