Fanfest 2013 and Twitch.TV - anyone else having trouble viewing?

I've never been able to view videos or video streams from twitch.tv - yes, I've gone through the twitch site looking for solutions. Nothing works.

I've just now tried it again to see if I could make it work given that the Fanfest 2013 streams will go through twitch. Sad I was really looking forward to the HD video streams again this year. However if I can't get twitch to work, there is no sense in my purchasing the HD stream package.

CCP, you did a great job last year with the HD streaming. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

If anyone can come up with a solution or point me in a direction, I'd appreciate it. I either get a black screen, a peach/beige screen or sometimes a brief notice that I need to install adobe flash. I have flash installed and up to date. Other sites such as the infamous youtube work just fine.

TIA

Doesn't matter which browser I try. IE9, IE10, FF19.

Checked the add-ons as well. tried disabling everything except flash. still no joy.

If all else fails update your video drivers (as unlikely a solution as that might be).

Hopefully you aren't trying to view from behind a firewall that will not allow their feed specifically. Do you have another computer available to test with at your location?

Yup, tried other computers. Only reason I tried the IE versions was to verify that it wasn't something specifically with Firefox.

Firewall, eh? have the normal Win7 settings. Nothing special. No inbound ports are open, of course. Outbound shouldn't be blocked. Will check it though.

Ok... looks like it might be a firewall issue afterall. Not with the router. With the Win7 firewall.

I've got a virtual machine running XP running on the same computer and once I opened up ports 1935 and 843, it started working on the VM. Will try that later on the Win7 firewall and report back just in case anyone else has this problem.

Do you by any chance have realplayer installed? There was a conflict once between flash and the realplayer download helper tool. If you open up that and go to the options and disable it, that should work, If not shrug.

No, no Realplayer installed.

Still a weird thing going on. I have no problem viewing it inside a Win7 64-bit virtual machine. Even full HD works fine in the VM. I still haven't been successful at getting it to run on my main Win7 OS. Oh well, I'll just watch it in a VM for now.

Thanks to all of you who bothered to read and make suggestions.
