Best lossfrom out-of-game circumstances

My wife's tripped the breaker a few times mid-fleet when she's pissed off (once while FC'ing) but this one came from her sucking up the house's bandwidth playing this on netflix (because she was pissed off): http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4638595706978466&pid=1.7

Doesnt really qualify, but i jumped my freighter into a system next to high sec and hit warp to the high sec gate. Shortly after, my router decided to do a reset.

Obviously quite panicked because i couldnt remember if i hit jump on contact or just warp to, or even if the jump on contact button was gonna work like it has a habit of not doing. I watched the status of the hub. After a minute or so, connection came back online, logged on to find the Ark still in warp only half way to the gate lol.

Mains power cable exploded outside the house back in 2005 - and I do mean exploded, it blew a big hole in the pavement tarmac at the end of our drive.

I don't remember being too concerned about what I lost - probably some Amarr BS, seem to remember they were more or less mandatory in fleet then - as I thought the gas boiler inside the house had exploded Lol

Childminding my neighbours kid. he ran into my kitchen table and started wailing, I jumped and and ran to see if he was ok. Must have been gone maybe 30 seconds.

Unfortunately I was flying a slave clone at the time and had warped to a gate when the wailing sounded, literally returned to the computer in time to see the screen flicker and station loading. That was the very night before podmails started being generated, and I've never had the balls to fly a multibillion pod since lol.

ps, More gav fleets please :) Less from that nipple who had no strategic foresight.

Game crashed while i'm doing a 1v1 , when i open the launcher again i get a wonderful "the client has been modified or damaged , please run the repair tool or redownload the game client" message.

Yay.

That's harsh man :( Bad luck.

I know I'm not the only person who's been in a 1v1 and dc'd, only to log back in and find that your unpiloted ship proceeded to defeat your opponent! If you ever get that hopefully it'll make up for the experience :)

I did lose a shiny fitted sfi to the police not long back too. Was happily playing with 2 toons all evening, decided to take a trip through high sec and disconnected in warp to the out gate to low sec. Naturally only Mehashi disconnected as a -9.9 toon, my alt was quite unaffected and could only look on bemused as I hurriedly tried to log Mehashi back in.

Since you probably don't want to get rid of the wife, I'd suggest a second internet service account just for your stuff; get a decent UPS for the gear. Let the Mrs. have her Netflix, you get your EveO. Simple solution that doesn't involve lawyers and you losing everything you own.

The cats are more responsible for FPS/tanks/MWO kinda deaths. Split second derping. Eve requires a more...Feminine? approach.

Though I have lost a 1v1 destroyer fight due to getting interrupted by sexy time, but i'll be damned if i can remember which lossmail it was...

as for her hogging bandwith get something like net limiter hide it somewere on her pc and squeeze her bandwidth a little ;)

Believe it or not but many years ago while I lived in Providence my niece and nephew (aged 6 and 8) took my Occator full of loot out for a spin after I had to go afk and make their dinner.

I came back to see my clonebay with them tittering away in the background.

I turn he computer off now when they come to visit. Smile

usually i just go sleep/afk while in space. Many times i got killed/podded because of it....

1st time: auto-pilot to Jita (AP couldn't lead to station at that point of time), smart-bombing suicider, lost daredevil/pod
2nd time (after "warp&dock/jump" just implemented) in 0.0: pressed warp/dock and went to restroom. Few minutes after returned to find myself in cloning facility. Warped but not docked for some reason. Occasional roamer....
3rd time in 0.0: experimental non-capstable shield fit for 10/10 Rogue Drone escalation. Needed energy vampire to maintain capacitor. Went AFK for some time. Drones killed anchor, ship-tank went from main fleet and got killed by rats. I returned just in time to warp-out damage dealers Lol
3rd time: went sleep on Dodixie undock. Forgot about off-war ( pirate low-sec alliance has off-warShocked ). Returned to cloning. War-target Lol

... and it still is not enough to get used to dock before AFK Lol

While trying to multibox (in an extreme fail manner) I have my two pvp chars on two monitors (doing some exploration plex) and my hauler alt in background flying a blocade runner. Right as I jump him into lowsec, my wife comes and asks to help her with some small chore (she needed help move a piece of furniture back, or something similar). Before going to help her I switch screen back to pvp chars and dock em both, totally forgetting about indy guy. Two minutes later I'm back and rolling around with pvp peeps. Fifteen mintes later I remember the hauler and alt-tab to that window in panic, only to find the pod hovering next to gate. Tottaly confused (why is pod still there if the ship has been destroyed?) I check the killmail. He died to gate rats. In a t2 rigged prowler Straight.

While on Anti-Pirate duties I lost an Enyo by thinking I would be safe to go have a poo. I left my ship burning for the sun from an asteroid belt while there was initially no one in system. When I heard the faint sound of a hull breach from my bathroom I was in no position to do anything about it.

Ship happens.
