Hi everyone.

English is not my main language so pls apologize my spelling or my grammer ^^

Now here is my porblem:
Sometimes my modules take heat damage without overheating them!

It happens in different situations (missions, travel between the systems or just floating in space)

The symbol for overheating a rack doesnt flash or something, the moduls just take dmg.

It happens only when im sitting in my drake. Most of the time only the mid slot modules taking dmg bot sometimes all moduls do.

Its very annoying because it always costs a lot of isk to me and i dont no if it is a bug or i pressing some buttons to cause this ****.

I hope someone could help me with that i dont know what to do anymore.

Thanks for reading and fly safe

I've never heard of that happening. Have you checked that they actually are damaged (ie: do they need repairing?)

Shift + Click overheats modules so it's possible to do it accidentally if you're chatting while shooting and stuff, if you're 100% sure that this is not the case, have you taken hull damage? When you take hull damage your modules will take a little damage too.

If all that is not the case just petition it unless I'm missing out something else.

I'd assume so as he says he is spending isk repairing them. Is there a short cut to overheat modules that might be getting pressed?

This one's a bit over the edge guys.

Locked for breaking... well, pretty much all the rules.

Thanks to all for your quick reply!

Maybe Dato Koppla is right! I will try to unbind the shortcut from the shift key and hope the problem will dissapear after that.

Thanks again

In the little sub menu on the bottom right of oyu capacitor display is the option to "Lock overload" preventing you from overloading accidentally without first going to this menu.

Also you can overload modules by clicking the little green part at the top of the modules icon.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

You can just lock the overload status. I do it habitually unless I'm going somewhere I'll probably need to overheat.

Otherwise, you can damage modules by going into hull HP.

There were some rumors that taking damage on low hull HP can damage modules. To be honest, I doubt that even if it's true, it's what causes OP's problems though.

Verified that it's true. I've not even trained the overheating skill yet, had a duel where i went 40% into hull and one of my rigs was damaged.

there's no such thing as 'heat damage', it's just 'damage'.
modules take it when you heat them and when you take structure damage. no other situations.
