Battleship Tiericide and new hulls (Ship proposal within).

I have faction fit several ships, do you realize that if someone officer fit one, the total cost of the ship would be inbetween 10 and 40 bil? and that a more common faction fitting would run 5 to 10 bil? That takes no small amount of time to accumulate, and that same amount of isk can buy much more mayhem in smaller ships. Honestly, if someone is plunking that kind of change down on a single ship, he should get his money's worth.

Like I said before, regardless of the resist bonus, it still only does unbonused damage, and is not great at breaking other battleship tanks, especially if confronted with a logi backed opponent. Even the best local tank has its limits, and it doesn't take much isk to put together a task force that can kill this thing. For a ship and fitting that costs 5 - 10bil, I could take it down with 4 players and 250mil. Yes, individually its more powerful than almost any other subcap, but last time I checked, the ability to overpower any individual opponent in its path is pretty much what defines any battleship, as a battleship. Have I mentioned I think battleships as a class are lacking?

Van Mathias i agree that battleships need some love... even new ships in the class.... but battleships are not an all round ships as u make them to be.Yeah they have great dps(some of them at least) and tank but they role is to bring more damage to the battlefield, but in return they are very vulnerable to smaller ships classes , because in most part of the large weapon system they use, what are u suggesting with that battle ship is an platform for solo work witch is against eve playstyle , i mean ccp spend a lot of time to make the ships in game not being able to solo everything making players either stick with the few solo things a ship can take on or use friends for the rest of the activities.
Forget pvp for a moment.... that ship u have proposed will also affect pve... having a ship that can solo everything in pve(ok maybe not incursions) will put the players on the path of working alone witch is against what ccp is trying to do., not to mention the cost of the ship, hull price and fittings, will make players stay in high sec even more witch is again against what cpp is trying to do( witch is more ppl in low/null sec).

U mentioned in one of the post about his being a ship for high end gameplay.....the problem with that is eve doesn`t have that kind of notion.....its not like other MMOs where u get the best items and u are better then anyone.... eve is made in such a way that even with max skills and best ship and items a player with less skills and a cheaper ship(but right tactics and fittings ) will come along and scatter your debris all over the space... and to be honest this is one reason that eve is so great... not having that end game thing where u can get and be better then everyone just because u have the ships/items.

Actually, this ship would be a beast in incursions, so I would think that it would encourage people to run them more, and since when is missioning a solo thing? Sure you can solo a lvl4 mission in a battleship, but its risky, and its so much easier to have a couple of peeps with you to support you, as battleships takes forever to take down frigate rats.

Also, the ship I have posted is not a master of all trades by any means, it brings more DPS than a BC to grid for sure, but being able to marginally outrange other DPS BS and tank doesnt make it able to take on other ship classes just as well. It, like other BS's is vulnerable to frig tacklers, HIC's and neut squads. Trust me, when you are attacked by a pack of 20 frigs, it doesnt matter how good the range bonus is at popping frigs at 30km, as you will only get 1 or 2 at most, and the other 18 will rip you to shreds like a swarm of bees while you sit there helplessly. And then you will get a killmail of your 7.5bil ship getting ganked by 20 frigs worth a combined 45mil.

Alright, re-ran some numbers on the resists, I have cut the second shield bonus in half to 2.5% per lvl, bringing the max skill total to 37.5% Shield resist boost, perfectly offsetting the Vindi damage bonus. The base shield resists have also been changed to 20/50/50/20, giving a combined resist layout of 50/69/69/50 with full skills, which I think is more in line with the current Pirate hulls.

Also decreased base target lock range to 48km, this is meant to be a blaster ship, and having the base rokh targeting range gives this a role that was not intended in the original design. I have also increased scan resolution to compensate for this a bit.

Max CPU has been decreased to 800, max PG has been decreased to 15k even.
Base shields adjusted to 10k.
