Although I agree to the lack of enlightenment gained from this thread, I'm going to have to enter myself into this contest, naturally.
What concerns me however is the Caldari's eyes. I understand that the race is based largely on 20th century Japan, but I felt that I was greatly limited with the work I could do with the eyes when I tried to make them less Japanese. I assumed I was forced to have somewhat Caldari style/Japanese eyes, but recently I've seen Caldari avatars that make me wonder if I was doing all I could to alter the eyes.

I think it's a question of bloodline. If you picked Achura, then there's your issue - Achura is the Asian-ancestry bloodline for the Caldari. Civire and Deteis characters tend to look more European.
