My problem is kinda the same, just from an other perspective.
Why is it hard for new corps to find new players?

It isn't.

If I can get my awoxing alt with 50 API verified kills on corpmates on it into corps (often several in a day) then a legitimate character that actually wants to be in a corp shouldn't be having any trouble.

Here's what you do:

1. Join the recruitment channel
2. Find a corp you want to join
3. Talk to the recruiter
4. Follow any instructions he gives you
5. Join the corp

It's not hard at all.

Guys...advise is allowed.

Covert recruitment isnt and thus are reported.

OP. I will be online this evening. If you are too I will open a convo to give some tips and help.
Personally...my corp has a very high SP limit so thats out of the question but I might be able to help you find yours.

Why is it hard for a new corp to get members...

Well they can choose you (who just started and still have to build up their corp) or an older corp (with more benefits already in place and likely more people online).

Guess what the majority will choose.

I listened to this discussion last night in comms.

The problem basically boils down to:

1. Eve is a player based game. By in large the players create their own experience, and players need other players. Corps starting out have difficulty creating there own experience. This is especially true of new players who don't know what to do anyway.

2. The new player needs to learn to play the game. From a new player prospective that is easier in an established Corps. One of the unspoken rules is to look to see how long the Corps has been around and how many members it has. If its young and to few its likely the Corps is unattractive to the new player.

3. Finally, a new corps doesn't really want "new" players starting out. You want a group of like minded veteran players. Once there is a group of like minded veterans, then new players will see the corps as attractive.

4. First impressions are really important. You only get one shot.

5. Its really hard work from the officer's standpoint. My corps has a player who does recruiting for 6-8 hours a day on weekends and a couple of hours a night on weekdays. Add that to the job of being the main organizer and entertainment director and you have an Eve full time job.

Advise: Stick with it. The Corps I joined has been trying to build itself for more than a year. Four months ago it had its 30th member. Today its more than 100. Takes time.

Recruitment posts removed.

Please stick to advice only.

OP: You can go to the Corporation and Alliance Recruitment center and look there for a corp/alliance that meets your needs.

Corps that don't welcome newbies aren't worth joining anyways. Don't even start getting cozy with some killboard-loving pseudo-elites, they aren't worth anyones time.

You will find that almost all reasonable corp are very open to recruiting new blood, as long as they seem like they are motivated to do their part in whatever it is the corp does. You just need to acquire some basic knowledge, of course. Not every corp can be a training corp.

Also, IMHO it's a good sign if a corp takes a while to let you in and maybe wants to talk to you first. In my (very limited) experience, corporations that just accept anyone are more likely to be filled with random people that don't particularly care about the corp, their buddies etc. while those that require some effort (and patience) from their recruits tend to be filled with people who want to be in that specific corp and who are much more involved.

That said, if they just don't respond to your request even though you followed their application procedure you may want to move on. There are tons of noob-friendly corps, just make sure to choose one that does the things you enjoy (eg. industry, missioning, FW, piracy, null-sec alliance etc).

I was looking for a corp after almost a year of playing eve solo.

Put some feelers out there.

Search through the corp filter/finder and find one you like the look of.

Contact the recruiter through eve mail or chat.

Ask your q's and then make a decision.

If the recruiter starts to pressure you, walk away. (close chat)

I'd put up my corp advert but it's not the right forum board.

Best of luck and mail me if you have trouble looking for a corp.

We are all here to help.

Check out the corp adverts in game and then for sure check the alliance and corp recruitment forums here. There should be a corp that fits what you and that corp are looking for.

Okay, maybe this time you were lucky that I posted from my cellphone and it's a PITA to copy links on it.

No idea how i managed to miss this. I will blame it on being very busy so have not gotten the chance to read the forums as often as i would like (have had to actually undock lately! What is the world coming to...).
But thank you for your kind words, i really do appreciate it and i am very pleased with the fact that recruiters like your self refer to it Smile

Something really wants me to agree with the majority of other comments: your not even trying..

I have been thru 4 corps (6 if you count the npc corps) since I started playing 2 1/2 weeks ago.

The first one I just wanted the 2mil ISK for joining, and left a day or 2 after, then I got into another one without realizing they were in a war, and I got sploded 2-3 times in hi sec, and being a noob, I couldn't afford, or understand what was going on. I thought I would be relitivly safe in hi sec :) the next one I found out was wayyy too far from me, and I didn't wanna move, and now I thnk the 4th one im in is a keeper :)

Just dont be shy, use the chat, all of it.. thers local, rookie help, etc. You can meet a lot of cool people.. Lots of carebears :)

But yea.. Just use the corp finder. It really does work :)

So does talking :)
