Just to make sure I understood this; if I choose to only fly one race then things whole change will not affect me in any way?

Basically yes.

What you might want to bare in mind though, is that if you've already trained (or are training now) BC to 4 or 5, then training the other races Frigate to 4 and Cruiser to 3 now as well, will save you training that races BC after the change.

You will then be given each races BC skill that on the change date.

Read the dev blog listed above, and decide whats best for you.

True. Stuff can change. But when it does...it will be said in a new Dev blog. So far there have been 3 (yes. THREE) Dev blogs in the last 5 months about the up coming skill change. ALL saying that it is level 3, and that is not something they have to change. Because it's not something that can be overpowered / not powerful enough like with changes to ship stats.

TLDR in order for maximum benefit

Step 1: Use remap to max out perception/willpower. You want the most points in perception then left over in willpower.
Step 2: Train ALL races Frigate IV and Cruiser 3.
Step 3: Train Battle Cruisers to V. {Make sure you can sit & undock in every battle cruiser}
Step 4: Train destroyers to V.
Step 5: Upgrade clone to account for an extra 7m sp.

There's still enough time. Make sure you go in that exact order as partial training into Battle cruisers V will ALSO be split among all races if patch comes early. Same with the destroyer skill.

1. I *did* mention that the skill levels were assuming current prereqs to fly a BC
2. questioner appears to have not applied caveats in first statement to subsequent statements.


(though I've edited the post to hopefully be more clear)
