Best Solo Frigate for FW/Piracy/General PvP?

I'm a solo pilot who currently flys a rifter but often find myself outclassed by AFs. I'm training Minmatar Frig V now and wanted to get people's opinions on different AFs. What is the best for solo PvP? I'd mainly use it in FW plexes and maybe occasional piracy.

There is no best solo frigate, they all have counters. Seems the condor is FOTM atm though.

Rifter has lost its edge with recent t1 frigate rebalance. Used to be king of all frigs but no longer, better off with slasher.

I've been having a lot of fun with the wolf, but you have to pick your fights. Stay away from condors slashers hookbills or anything that might have a tracking disruptor or you will die a slow death.

Stay away from Jaguar imo, used to be king of AFs but now its just garbage.

Anyways thats my opinion

The Rifter with a SAAR is pretty damn good. I've also been flying a dual web SAAR Firetail and that is very scary:

SFI Down

I really don't understand the appeal of the slasher. It's fitting grid is a bit sad in my eyes.

Blaster harpy.
Dual-asb hawk.
Enyo and incursus (multiple fits).
Dual-rep vengeance.
Arty-wolf.

I would call those the best AFs for solo pvp right now, and that list is in no particular order. Jags and retris also solo pew fine - they are just a bit more niche, IMO.

Short answer is that AFs are in a GREAT spot for solo pvp right now, but don't discount all the other options available as well as t1 frigs and navy present many great options as well.

The one that is paper to the other person's rock. Or scissors to his paper. I don't really do metaphors that well.

Zappity's Adventures for a taste of lowsec and nullsec.

When everyone is playing Rock Paper Scissors, your best bet to succeed at Solo PvP would probably be 'Being the Sledge Hammer'. Paper might be hard to crush, but then again, what can paper do to stop a sledge hammer?

Also:

Very interested in the exact fit of the SAAR Firetail, cause my attempts to fit a Firetail with an active armor tank all fail at the miserable caplife, which you somehow managed to sustain in a long, enduring fight. Nice kill.

SAAR Firetail-

High:
200mm AC II x 2
Meta Rocket Launcher
Mid:
AB II
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor x 2
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler
Low:
Internal Force Field Array
EANM II
SAAR
Rigs:
Projectile Burst
Armor nano Pump
Armor explosive

The two webs allowed me to negate his transversal. Once his drones died I didn't even have to pulse the Repper.

Thanks for your fit!

Based on his fitting, especially regarding the probably lacking armor skills or unwillingness to pay 2 mil ISK more on a already 40-50m hull (and therefor a potential awkwardness in his piloting anyways), do you think it's likely he had Minmatar Cruiser to V as well as the Tracking Skill?
If not, do you think you woul'd still have flown under his guns if he had those skills up?

Also, i guess when taking out a SFI myself i will always carry some Depleted Uranium and a Tracking Booster.

Blaster Harpy and Dual web hookbill are good. Also don't discount destroyers, they're still quite maneuverable for solo pvp and they can give many frigates a run for their money, MSE Thrasher or no prop Coercer are my favourite.

I can't speak to his skills. The Firetail is not highly feared by most FW pilots. It does however have a very small signature radius. There are implants that capitalize on that strength. (Not snakes)

I like ships that are not FOTM. Most people run from a Hookbill. They won't run from a Rifter or RFF.

I still don't like AF's coz frigates which can be caught at the gate are garbage imo.

There are lots of new/revamped frigs and dessies people don't know how to use properly. I'd recommend to choose one and make some surprizes Pirate
