Proposal : Jump Queue

After the events in Lumiere today, I have this to propose. A jump in Queue system for large scale events such as this. A mechanism by where an attempt to jump into a full system can enter a priority Queue, first come first served. This is intended to be opposed to the "spam the button and hope I get lucky" mechanism hat I and thousands of others experienced today.

If as CCP Falcon said on the live stream, it is intended to increase the size of these events, lessons must be learned on the scale of which the response may be to even short scale advertisements.

Thankyou for your time.

I endorese this product or service.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

I support this. Or, how about having more than just a handful of servers to host all of the systems. Have a cluster setup in advance that, if need be, can have 50,000 players in a single system at once. It's not like CCP isn't spending our money on something useful for a change.

This would definitely be a good idea.
I imagine the spamming of the jump button puts a bit of load on the servers; this would help ease that, and it would also allow for first come first served, which is good.

CCP already has one of the largest privately owned servers in the world, what do you want them to do?

They've already said that their code does not allow them to break up the calculations smaller than a single system, which must be on one machine. That machine IIRC is a top of the line multi CPU blade server; one of the best in the world . . . when they come out with photonic 1 THz processors you might have a legit complaint, until then CCP does what they must because they can

That is my exact same thought, to overloaded systems they need to make a queue of some sort.

It was ridiculous it took me around 30 minutes of auto-pilot jumping to get into Jita, or when you try to log in into the system is the same thing. There must be a queue of some sort for jumping or logging.

This woul be a great idea to deal Jita congestion/jump-button-spamming-on-gate when entering in system like is happening right now.
I know adding servers is not a really good idea, but at least in this way, we can know how many players we have to wait before jump in the system. Much better then now we have very few chance to enter.

Great idea. Also on this theme they should make pilots awaiting Traffic Control Clearance invulnerable and unable to operate weapons systems.

If a Pilot cancels there jump by moving or initiating a warp elsewhere the invul and weapons lock is freed. This should prevent sudden "gate camps" due to a live event going on and encourage more people to attend. No one wants to be taken out before they get in there and because Traffic Control can't clear you into the system.

Flame it if you want but it's just an idea and I'm not precious about it, just throwing it out there.

Only if once the ship gets into the queue it becomes invulnerable. and stuck into the jump ( no turning back or cancelling the jump)

A unique "pre-jump" bubble, so you actually don't just float in space until you can jump.
