It's actually the same. The system is already capped out (1k players in system) so you'll need to be lucky and getting a spot if/when it drops from 1k. Keep in mind there's probably a few hundred like you, wanting to login into sytem directly and there's at least 300/500 more in game, spamming the gates. So ... do you feel lucky? Lol

Last I saw, the Mies gate had about 180 guys. Algogille had about 500 on local, about 400 on the gate.

Just spam it and you may get lucky. I've got better things to do with my time.

CCP said they will not be pushing up the cap until fighting starts. They want to see the effect on the server with fighting, not just ships sitting in space. (Or docked, like Jita. The load per player docked is less than one in space, which is less than one in a big fur ball fighting).

Also, it is a reinforced node, just like Jita has.

So in a sense, welcome to mass testing on TQ! :) If a unreinforced node handled the asakai battle (2500+), this one can surely handle 2k in better shape. It's a mass test / marketing stunt :|

Are the spare re-enforced nodes as beefy as Jita? I thought Jita was in a class of ts own.

Good news, though - this improves my chances of getting a decent bite at things, later.

That I'm not sure. Its been awhile, so they could have gotten more units of that super hardware. Or just use the Jita node for the day, and set the Jita cap down. All I know for sure is Luminaire is on a reinforced node.

It will be interesting to see how far the population can grow, and if they allow TiDi to get large.

Well played CCP, lets have a live event, that NO ONE CAN COME TOO!

I move ships up there, dock in station, can't log into Luminaire.

Well, at least you've proved even more incompetent than usual.
Once again I have to wonder why I keep any accounts open. Oops

I have this crazy dream, that the infrastructure guys in CCP go hat in hand to the purse-holders (and dev team) and make them realize they really need to implement a dynamic resource allocating architecture from the kernal up, that can dynamically respond to hot spots with more horsepower, without manually pre-re-enforcing nodes, etc etc.

If you are really serious about this 'single sandbox' concept (and not multiple shards), you need to take dynamic resource allocation more seriously than lipstick-on-a-pig TiDi, 24 notification on re-enforce nodes & other workarounds...IMHO. What happens when the gaming media for example catch wind of the fact the EVE single-shard sandbox is vaporware, and that as soon as a big battle ensues TiDi and re-enforce node fail manifests?

I can see the counter-ad's now from WoW or others. "Yeah we are multi-shard, but at least your character wont freeze on you mid battle...". Ouch.

Funny this restriction on a 1.0 system... reading the threads around here, you'd think that every high sec system is jam-packed with scared carebears 23/7 and every highsec note would be permebeefed to handle thousands of players at once.

You seem to have not been watching the news recently. There was a huge battle, completely unscripted, US$22K worth of destroyed ships... And TiDi did its thing. The completely un-reenforced node held the load, even as half the galaxy was streaming towards the fight.

Do try to keep up, hm-kay?

Your client has waited 5 minutes for a remote call to complete.
This could mean that the server is very loaded.

Please be patient, chances are that the call will complete eventually but depending on the load it might be considerable time.

Spent the last couple of days looking forward to this, never managed to get my alt in despite trying all afternoon. I'm sure CCP tried their best but this has been incredibly disappointing :(

Asakai had more with no notice, Jita has more every day, I understand the hardware has limitations but it just feels like you set the arbitrary population limit way too low given the amount of promotion and hype for the event and the inevitable amount of people who would be interested in it. There were well over a thousand people in the surrounding systems who spent hours trying to get in. I don't imagine many of them leaving without feeling bummed out.

On the plus side, yay gallente.

Pity that didn't happen today for the Caldari-Gallente War event of the decade.
