Why is a HIGH SEC system being set to free for all, When the whole point of a 1.0 system is that it's supposed to be about as safe as it gets in empire space.

Why is something that is faction warfare based / the waste of time game dust based being forced down the throat of regular eve players who iether don't do faction warfare or don't give a rats ass about what happens in dust.

All this free fire zone as its being called does is force FW and the waste of space dust on to people who don't even want it.

And someone should not have to avoid a system just because FW is going on there if there not in FW. this is utter rubbish

This next bit just wreaks of DUST being foisted on people who don't want it
""Players who do not wish to be at risk of in game loss due to ongoing hostilities in the Luminaire solar system should be sure to add this system to their autopilot avoidance list and ensure they stay well clear of Luminaire over the course of the weekend.""

Btw why is it eve players pay for there accounts but these waste of space dust players get to invade our space game for free.

Dont go near any planets and avoid my guns drones and missiles and you can have your way in there.

Ok, I'm trying really hard to figure out what the best route to take is here. Luminaire isn't a "FW system", but it IS subject to FW police. I know CCP doesn't want to give out too many spoilers, and that's cool, but I'm assuming there will be some sort of conflict between Caldari and Gallente (with plenty of yarrs smashing everything inbetween).

My concern is how I can best position myself to support the Caldari in w/e way I can. I want to pick a side in the conflict. I know it's going to be all hell breaking loose but the last thing I want is to show up alone in some random FFA. I want to know how I can join the Caldari forces.... will they be led by a dev? Will organization be left to the players?

Also, the reason I keep asking about being in the militia or not is due to the 24 hour wait period. I don't want to show up to the party and realize I should have or shouldn't have been part of the militia in order to take full advantage of it.

Put in another way: Will the ONLY way to support your chosen faction be through militia enlistment or will independent pilots be able to assemble into militia fleets to help out?

If you've been in Caldari FW, you probably have negative Gal standings, which means that the faction navy will be after you anyway.

Most Caldari supporters, unsuprisingly, have terrible Gal standings. If you can make it, you'll be one of a few who do, because CCP has set the Caldari up to fail already by keeping most of us out of Luminaire, not to mention the fact that one of the devs has already said that players aren't intended to be able to change the story. So I wouldn't bother - you'll just lose isk so that CCP and their Gal blues can get their rocks off.

what and watch PL drop 100 dreads and mealt the titan?

It would be more fun to drop blap dreads and kill all the care bears that show up with their 5 B isk tengus.

OK for those of you who did not read the books:

The means through which that Titan got there, and the start of the war in general, involved the DISABLING of Concord.

Yes Concord was taken out for a short time. I won't say any more, because the books are a great read and I don't want to spoil anything. Get the books, you will love them even if you are not into the lore of the game and sci-fi in general. .

So, it's not like it can't happen again.

I will be sure to send in an alt with a cheap frigate and find out what kind of free fire zone this is, and of course what flagging occures. Cool

Note that the claim by the GMs includes capsules - so considering the lore and that statement it's looking this could get interesting.

Let's hope it's not a gankfest or the whole event is going to be actors around Caldari prime for 5 minutes (before they get blapped) and gate camps for 24 hours.

This sounds like it's going to be hot! :D

I'm excited! Can't wait to see something blow up!

Recommendations:

-enable ships wobbling in hangar view (pre-Captains Quarters)

-add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot)

-STOP NERFING EVERYTHING!

It should be noted that the Empyrean Age events noted in the book happened during the down time for the patch/update. None of us were online to experience them.

Great, right next to my mission running system. It's as if lots of people having fun is more important than me killing a few rats for the sake of lining my wallet Roll

I'll be grabbing myself a cheap ship and seeing what's going on.

Sounds fun Big smile

Does this mean server logging is off and we can use bugs and exploits to gain massive wealth because it will not be recorded?

Or

Does this mean that if a lot of people stay confused and the DEVs have no effin clue what is going on that they will consider it a successful test and server logging for reimbursement will soon follow for the whole game?.

Seriously, if this is a Event level thing then you should make it a bit more clear. As the news item reads right now it makes people think your shiznat is broken and you just cant get it to work.

On top of that, doesn't the server have the ability to add messages when one tries to activate gates?
A warning pre-jump or for those logged in or using the "FW" overlay would look a lot more pro than "please avoid this system, or stuff is broken".

Seriously? Being given advanced notice that this is going on, which system it's going on in, and being advised to avoid that system if you don't wish to participate is "forcing it down your throat"? No sir. Not even close. Random highsec gankers force PVP down your throat. CCP is doing their best to make sure those who want it get it, and those who don't want it can avoid it. So make your choice and quit whining. You are not the only player in Eve, and Luminaire is not the only system. Not by a long shot.

Read the books and you'll see that nowhere is safe from attacks.

Eve: The Empyrean Age
Eve: Templar One
Eve: The Burning Life

It's not just some DUST thing that's being foisted on people - it's legit story following on the lore of the game that you are playing which has been around for much longer than DUST.

Learn to do some research before you go off on some rant and make yourself look like a tool.

Edit: You can also find some of that stuff from the books on the wiki here

The tinfoil is extra strong with this one, I guess I shouldnt be surprised given hes in Liandri Covenant though, biggest bunch of whiners in fac war. Your own actions are whats keeping you out of Luminaire, has nothing to do with CCP in the slightest. Also I dont remember any complaints from you when the caldari got the titan in the system in the first place, so to start bleating when the situation migh be reversed is more than a little hypocritical.

This, so much.

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie
