Since I saw this thread the first time I've been having the name "Naga" on my mind.
I know it from somewhere before and in my mind I associated it with the game Unreal for some reason.

Yeah Nagas are mythological entities in Hinduism and Buddhism. They're kind of oceanic snake people IIRC. In Mahayana Buddhist mythology, hey brought the Mahayana scriptures of Buddhism to the world after they were buried by the Buddha, or lost or something.

Most of Caldari is birds, but I guess reptilian things are close, considreing the theories that birds are descended from dinosaurs. We're already out of whack with the Scorpion, so I guess Nagas aren't too much of a stretch (stretch, snake, geddit? ah nvm).

Well, I don't know which mythology they came from (I thought it was greek mythology tbh), but they are half snake half human, kind of like mermaids.

I think they were only female though, and I think they used to lure homo-sapien males to mate with and then they'd eat them. But I'm too lazy to look it up.

Back on topic though: Surely you're not seriously suggesting that Naga sounds like the evil word that brothers call each other all the time? If anything, I'd say it'd probably sound like a bunch of people nagging. Example:

Scout: "Oh yeah, there's a bunch of naggers here."
FC: "Um, wat? U serious? People are nagging in local? R' they blue, red or grey?"
Scout: "Ehm, no dude. They're not nagging. I meant Nagas, as in the ship, the Naga."
FC: "Oh, well why didn't you say so?"
Scout: "I did!"
FC: "Allright, no need to get all naggy about it."
Scout: "That's so not funny."
FC: "Well, now you ARE nagging."
Scout: "*Sigh*, NO, now I'm gonna start nagging, because a bunch of nagas just popped my ship."
FC: "OK, I'm a bit confused now, are you saying they're nagging, or are you nagging, or are their ships nagging? What's the score here?"
Scout: "Goddammit you ******* stupid fat nerd! I just lost my ship because of your dumb fat ass! I quit!"
FC: "Oh, anybody else wanna be scout?"
