I like to play eve...

but i also like to take breaks...

one of the main problems i run into is when i start to play again i have literally 100's of ships to move around and tbh doing a few weeks of carrier logistics wears me out...

i was thinking it would be cool if there were a new tier 2 and tech II jump Freighter that had no cargo bay but instead had a SMA...

so what do you guys think?

would you like to see a freighter that has a giant sma? that way you can move around lots of ships?

if it existed . it would have to be a unload in station. no space deploying. hull and armor very low for its size cause of all the space needed for ships

Not a bad idea. I wouldn't regard it as essential, you can always move your ships packaged with a regular freighter and fit them at your destination, but I could certainly see the benefits in being able to transport a lot of fitted ships all at once.

I wouldn't mind a ship that is capable of moving ~1'000'000 m3 of assembled ships around. Would make relocation of large assets less of an effort.

Not going to happen until you figure out a way to keep people from bringing a capital (dread or carrier) into high sec.

reading the op usually helps

you can only take 2 bs's in that ship... too small for what i am looking for

i would prefer 10 for the ship i am asking for.

Assembled dread (or carrier) is about 10-15m m3.
I don't see an issue.

why not it would be simular to a regular freighter?

no fittings

low ehp

bad align time

gankable....

I mean back in the day carriers used to be able to carry way more then 2 bs's but ccp thought that was op for a carrier and i tend to agree... but that does not mean it would be op for a tier II freighter and jump freighter... obviously the JF would have a much smaller sma so perhaps 6 bs's?

And the OP is talking about a ship that can carry lots of assembled ships and referenced having to move 100 BS, which would indicate a SMA of 50 million m3. If it is merely 9 million then it would work but he'd still have to make 6 trips (which beats 50 I suppose).

TL;DR can somebody define "lots"?

Mebiatch,

With an SMA of 10 million m3 you could possible move a dread or carrier into high sec. If that is possible, then you wont get that ship.

Actually, 10 million m3 should be fine, the smallest capital is the Nidhoggur at 11.25 million. So long as the SMA size is fixed at 10 million shouldn't be an issue.....

Mebiatch,

With an SMA of 10 million m3 you could possible move a dread or carrier into high sec. If that is possible, then you wont get that ship.

The smallest "capital" ship is the orca and it sits at 10.25million m3 so as long as the max SMA is 10mill the ship would be fine.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Yeah, just looked...although I don't consider the Orca to be a capital, you don't need the capital ships skill to operate it. P And the Orca is allowed in high sec anyways, so even if you could squeeze one in there (say they went with 11 million m3) no big deal.
