IDEAS - Cloaking change and new ships

1.
Make cloaking devices use capacitor, this would facilitate changes in cloak use, if one wants to perma cloak, one would need to fit capacitor rechargers to do so = less tank.

2.
Make cloaking devices for each ship size, similar to afterburners and MWDs, also would make using the new cloaks more balanced compared to having only one size fits all.

3.
Current specialized cloaking ships would get a bonus similar to the covert ops CPU reduction bonus, so they can perma cloak fairly easily.

4.
Make a tech 2 destroyer specialized to hunt cloaked ships, the new destroyer hulls come in handy there. The new destroyer would have specialized probes(only it would be able to use them, similar to the warp disruption bubbles of the Interdictor). The probes could only be able to get down 100 km range, 50 km at best(10 km closer pr skill level)
Then a new module would come into use, a new type of sensor, it would work similar to a sonar ping(gives a blip on the tactical overview). Then the destroyer could call in reinforcements, launch a special decloaking "bomb".

5.
Make a Fleet cloaking ship, said ship would be similar to the Heavy Interdictor, except instead of warp scrambling bubble, it would have a cloaking one. Each ship inside said bubble wouldn't be able to use it's weapons, and once the cloak would be dropped, it would take every ship 10-20 seconds to recalibrate their sensors(ship skill would lower said time, at lvl5 = one recalibration time, skill would be rank12-14, ). The Fleet cloaking ship would be similar to a logistics cruiser, would have pretty much no offensive abilities, but would be a hard nut to crack.

Why? Cloaks are already balanced.

Maybe it's because I live in FW low sec, but I don't understand all the issues people have with cloaks. While cloaked, you can't do anything but provide Intel so why is it an issue?

My only complaint with cloaks is all FW plex farmers who use Them

Who cares if they go AFK with the ship cloaked? Its not like the pilot can do anything.

As much as I hate your corp/alliance's way of playing (lost a few ships to your camps, grrragegoeshere), I agree.

Cloaks are already balanced, it is the OP who needs to change by not being a pussy. Stop being scared of AFK cloakers you know are there. They are far less dangerous than the ten-man cloaked hunter fleet in every wormhole system.

I got pissed the other night I took a ship out and cloaked up and waited for something to happen, I eventually fell asleep when I woke up I didn't make crap, my wallet was the same an I had no new kills.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

If you still want to make "perma-cloaking" possible then the first bunch of changes you suggest serve no purpose other than to weaken the tank/capabilities of cloaked ships by making them sacrifice slots for cap mods. Cloaked ships are already very weak and limited, so this is pointless. If you can't deal with a cloaked ship and think they need nerfing, you're bad at EVE sorry.

As for a ship that can detect/find cloaked ships: No. It breaks wormhole space entirely, and even in nullsec it is entirely unnecessary. If you're a resident of a system, you already have a lot of massive advantages over the single guy with a cloak who enters "your" system - you don't need more.

OMFG....

These posts should be a bannable offense.

And look the doofus contradicts himself with 1 and 3.

Seriously...pull your head out of your fourth point of contact and stop coming to the forums to whine.

Any change to cloak needs to accomodate for two important things:

1.) The base use of a cloak. The primary purpose of a cloak is to be safe and hidden. If you have to suddenly go afk, if a hostile enters system, a cloak enables you to be safe.... Any changes to cloaks must not alter that. Next, the primary purpose of the Covert Cloak is to travel safely. Any decloaking mechanic must not be easily used to catch covert ships attempting to navigate a gate. If your "anti-cloak" mechanics preven any of these uses of cloaks, you essentially destroy the purpose of the cloak...

2.) The omnipotent Local Chat.... The only reason people afk-cloaky-camp a system is to undermine the instant and omniscient local chat. If you wish to remove AFK cloakers, then you should address the bias in our intel tools.

I actually like the idea of having a destroyer that can hunt cloakers. It would have to be tweaked so as to work nicely.

Maybe a low tank, 20km hic type bubble that has a chance to disrupt the cloak of stealthed ships. Make normal ships easy to detect and specialised cloak ships much more difficult.

It could work...

CCP could easily fix cloaking if they wanted too... It's just a matter of them putting effort into it.

Oh wait, there's no problem with cloaking. CCP already fixed it!@!!!

cloacking is fine,in fact is some situation like gatecamps it might turn super bad for the cloacky pilot because of drones abandoned at decloack point, cargo containers, interceptors, super fast lockers, smartbomb battleships <---- any other similar mechanic)

Ok, new suggestion. Another cloak mod that uses cap, but allows any ship with it equipped to warp cloaked . And just to be fair it will have to be loaded with cap charges and use up GJ like an ASB and a CPU % penalty like the MWD. Huh? I'd rather be productive.

Additionally make a T2 version for Covert ops (to be specific, excluding stealth bombers I know some of you won't get that on your own) only that allows them to.

I could understand the use for a cloaky scanner, however it would need to have a long cycle time like 8-12 seconds. Gankers already have the advantage with the warp disruption bubbles. With this I would want a new low slot mod to provide some way stabilize a warp field inside a bubble. A non-targetted interdiction resistance/immunity
mod would be nice.

i have yet another fix: a free box of kleenex for every nullbear who can't deal with the horrors of seeing a single neutral in the chat list in the dangerous area of space they chose to live in
