Btw quirk , i noticed you made a remark about that in the pos planner thread and probably indeed the reason to make this thread.

Ironic how you can whine about this yet did not take the time to show the OP in that thread what choices he had regarding pos planners. So you whine about me saying ''google it'' yet add no content nor advice and i answer his question.

Trolltastic you be ...

Yes, you can see your name in the OP right there. This is definitely not an accumulation of numerous shiptoasts.

I actually remember having a closet full of Encyclopedia Brittanicas when I was a kid (yes, I'm old). I remember being among the first wave of Google users and actually spreading the word about it. Back then, most people used Yahoo! or AOL search and they were full of spammy news crap, while Google was clean and easy to use. Now, Google is a noun.

Anyway, my point is: if you kids can't find your way around the internet by now, GTFO. People may seem unhelpful, but the reality is, a lot of you are just lazy. If you can't find a YouTube video about it in 10 seconds, you're crying out for help. Wearing your pants half off your asses must be affecting your brains.

Google is kind of worthless to most people, providing threads and information that used to be popular and relevant and now are not. There's a reason that Google has it's own Advanced search feature that allows you to limit the time period of a search (though the monkey at Google that thought it would be a good idea to put it at the bottom of the page needs to take a basic web site design course).

Nice isn't in the GD vocabulary, if you want nice, try NCQA P

These forums are some of the worst I have seen.

Not content with roll playing evil, mean nasty characters, seems a lot bring that persona onto the forums with them. It's quite surprising given the average age of Eve player is supposed to be mid to late 20's.

Is what it is I guess, just get on with it or move on. There are better areas of the forum than GD for sure.

Forum PvP is best PvP.

I'm 37, and I assure you: this is no persona. I cheer for villains in the movies. I swerve to run over kittens and steal candy from babies. Once, I even voted Democrat.

Okay, I'm lying about the Democrat part. No one is that evil.

The funny part is when you do use the search button to find answers to your questions you end up having to sift through an overwhelming list of replies that say "use the search button".

I'll throw advice, but I'm not going to sugar coat anything for a new player. Also some people are just lazy when it comes to searching for info, and they need to be told that they are bad for doing so.

these people deserve the abuse, to be quite frank. not to mention if they're asking about something specific there's 9 times out of 10, a specific forum for that. so they also deserve abuse for using the wrong forum.

No one deserves abuse.

The forums are not eve, and there are different rules in place.

There is really no need to berate someone who is asking for help. In fact this would be against forum rules.
If they are posting in the wrong section refer them there, or don't post at all.

Nowadays being mean to someone involves language that is not allowed in-game.

You're best bet is to do what i do, and go ahead and post the question anyways. You can generally tell if a persons response is completely unhelpful within a few seconds of the first sentence, giving you plenty of time to skip to the next. I've always been of the opinion that if you're not posting to help or answer the OP's question, then why have they bothered to post in the first place? Oh yeah, its cause they're a ****. Such people's responses aren't even worthy of the time it takes to read them. Which i find extra funny, considering that it probably takes them more time to read your thread, and write their useless non-helpful reply.

I like to think that i've wasted their time! Thats always a nice feeling. Cool

Generally given enough time someone who is nice and helpful will respond and answer your question. Its at this point that you yourself can reply, thank them for their help, and continue to ignore all the other morons that have "contributed" to the thread.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.
