I can never get myself to press down on the throttle when the deer is caught in my headlights. Eve does not turn you evil, it shows you what you are capable off.

And I love it. If you would have met me in another game maybe 3-4 years ago I would have been the most helpful player you could want. I would give you starter money, help you get gear or anything like that. Even in games where you were able to kill and take the item of another player if you tired a little trickery. But then I found EVE. I don't know when it happened or why it was this game but I went dark.

Now, after 2 years of playing this game, I would not hesitate to take every thing you have, without a second thought given the chance. Maybe it was the fact that you can with out threat of being banned or that people just make it so easy. I've joined corps just to ruin them, I've scammed people out of their ships and money, I even start taking candy from babies. And you know what? It is ******* freeing as hell. Everyone needs to just go out and ruin someones day. Hell ruin my day for all I care, it's funny as ****. I found the EVE nirvana of scamming, killing and being scammed and killed.

And to give this thread some point and possible longevity, lets all reflect on what horrible things we have done at the expence of others, and the good times we had doing it. And i;m not just talking being a pirate here either, the people that ruin markets and over charge by 1000% are just as bad as the pirates.

My name Savnire Jacitu, I am Evil and proud of it.

Heh, even though it's out of character for me, I think I'll rain on this parade. Just a little bit since the OP basically challenged players to ruin his day..

Blink

First of all, don't break your arm trying to pat yourself on the back there noobie.

It may seem like you've done a lot for a character created on 2011.09.14 @ 12:28 Eve Time. According to my calculations, you're only 1 1/2 years old, not over 2 years old. When or if you ever do manage to take down a major power-block Alliance single handedly, then that's something to post and boast about. Definitely not a couple of little escapades you've done to newby's.

I've met a lot of very cool helpful people in this game over the years who are still very cool and helpful. I guess it all depends on which side of the tracks you're from.

Anyway, Eve doesn't turn people evil. People turn other people evil. It's very easy to turn weak, feeble minded people into blind fanatics yelling "Jihad".

That sh*t is so commonplace it's old as this game. Obviously you're fixated on just one side of the coin, a small section of the whole picture, just another brick in the wall, etc.

What you should be asking for is stories of Sweet Revenge enacted by those who were screwed over.

Then you'll really see Evil.

Even though some people in this game might consider me to be mental and "evil'. I am far from it, I still help people especially new players that shows more guts than the 3 year old characters in the same corp I am war with.

I have been known to give people their losses back in isk with a little bit just because I like what they tried, even though they had no chance at all.

You played WoW, thus the worst possible evil of all by default.

Pfffft. If you sub this game, you're evil from the get go. Let's see, 14.99 for a month's sub, or 14.99 to help feed those men, woman and kids at the local shelter/food bank/charity school/etc.. Play with imaginary spaceships, assembly lines, and internet "friends" for a hundred hours a month or volunteer to improve your community, uplift your local schools, et al. "Evil prospers when good men fail to act" pretty much covers anyone who plays an MMO.

So yes, playing Eve makes you Evil, however so does playing WoW, and WoW does Evil better.

Woah there, set down the koolaid, comrade Social Injustice! Not expending your personal resources (time/labor) in a vain attempt to uplift the derelects of mankind does not make you 'evil', it makes you normal. At best, you could argue that the activities you mentioned are 'good' things to do, but even so, they do not make someone a 'good person' - the serial rapist could conceivably be spending his non-****-filled hours volounteering down at the soup kitchen.

Try not to foist your bizarro-socialist moral superiority perspective on others, Mmkay?

Yeah EvE is seperated between the good and the scum. Good of you to point yourself out so clearly. As an honourable man, i like to reflect my personality in the things i do. You won't find me doing anything as low. Honesty and trust are far more valuable.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

This is true; WoW teaches the assumption that our choices don't carry any moral weight and that it's someone else's job to make sure bad things don't happen and are punished. A better breeding ground for evil is hard to imagine.

Impressive. Most impressive. EVE has taught you well. You have controlled your fear. Now, release your anger. Only your hatred can destroy me..

Eve does not make you evil, it merely attenuates the voices in your head, that have been imposed by societal norms, that tell you not to be evil.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Eve doens´t make you evil. It´s just a huge sandbox (wow, who would have thought of that?) where you can PLAY A GAME in a way you never did before.

I´m rather irritated of the statement that a videogame is able to alter your morales (as player, not as player character).

If a game realy affects in in RL you probably should take a break and visit a doc (and that´s not a troll or a flame).

When you have no restrictions, it's amazing what some people can do.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.
