CCP, any reason why explo sites don't give sec status for killing rats?

I never really understood this. While mission bears get plenty of standing while grinding isk, some pirates that does explo for a living won't get "jack sh*t" for killing same pirate faction ships as you get in missions. What gives? Sadly I got this even reconfirmed by GM too, but never got a clear answer for reason behind it.

Killing pirates outside missions will increase you concord standing, which is the same as security status, and you are also payed bounties by concord.

But you are not really working for anyone except concord, so why should you get standing with other corporations?.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

Maybe I was not clear enough. sorry. What i AM talking about is exactly concord standings, that doing exploration sites concord standing does not raise, unlike ratting and missioning. There might be "some" sites that gives boost, but most plexes and random sites did not give any increase.

I'm having a similar issue. I currently run True Sansha 3/10 and 4/10 sites in HS. These are signatures and need to be scanned. I HAVE NOT recieved and sec status increases from running these sites. I do get bounties however. I was hoping someone could shed some light as well.

I just went back and checked sec gain on my exploration character and I am getting increases. He only does 4/10+ DED sites and has gains from shooting Sansha, Gurista, and Angel.

He has not been out in a couple weeks so maybe your phenomenon is new? When did you get confirmation from a GM about not getting sec increase?

Nerfing High-sec is never the answer. It is the question. The answer is 'YES'.

I have petitioned this myself, after noticing that i only occasionally get sec status transactions when exploring. The answer basically was: Only belt rats are guaranteed to give sec status, deadspace rats not. Beats me why, but it seems to be that way.

As of about a week ago I can confirm I was getting sec status increases from exploration sites; however minimal they were. Obviously its not accumulating as quickly as you'd like. As I was living in your area of space you can rule location out as a variable Lol

You shouldn't expect much from GMs. If you ask them a leading question they will usually leap on an obvious answer in order to close your petition and move on.

This is bullshit. I'm -5 and I'm not getting sec status increases for most (if not all) exploration sites. Don't tell me the cap is lower than -5 for those rats.

Well, I didn't create that evelopedia page nor did I say that is the reason for not getting any security status increase. I just posted it.

CCP has done a lot of changes to the game recently which has resulted in various bugs showing up. Maybe they did a stealth change to the mechanic or maybe it's a bug, only they can say for sure. CCP definitely wouldn't post an Official statement saying 'Sorry, due to our new changes, one or more of the new mechanics has basically eliminated Security Status gains..'

However, your character being created on 2009.01.31 @ 10:00 Eve time might have something to do with it. I'm sure that constantly killing the same type of NPC's basically won't matter any more due to the character gaining higher skill levels, using better equipment, etc.. That would explain the reason for progressing to larger NPC kills in order to register security status gains.

As for your Security Status, it shows as -4.7 so something is definitely happening. Also training the skill 'Fast Talk' should help a lot.

Anyway, asking CCP via petition in-game is definitely the best course of action for info.
