Uber Rare Ships

Theres quite a few unique and rare ships ingame, but we haven't seen any uber rare ships for years now, and by uber rare I mean less than 5 of them made ever. I'm not saying that the latest round of AT ships arn't cool, or that the latest round of updated ships and textures aren't awesome, nor that I'm not extremely excited to see the new battle-cruisers coming this winter. Its just that well, uber rare ships are so more interesting and have a much more sustainable excitement about them than just uncommon or rare ships and its not only the person who owns them that is effected. The potential drahma caused by these ships (when they're first released, sold, stolen or traded) are on a scale exceeding epic compared to other ships and the opportunities for community involvement could be so much greater if they weren't aspected to a particular play style like the Alliance Tournaments.

Uber rare ships that exist or have existed in Eve:
- Gold Magnate (No longer exists)
- Opux Luxury Yacht (formerly Opus Luxury Yacht)
- Federate Issue Megathron
- Imperial Issue Armageddon
- Imperial Issue Apocalypse
- State Issue Raven
- Tribal Issue Tempest

Make us some new uber rare ships CCPS and give them out in an event that isn't the Alliance tournament so that everyone can take part. The ROI for an eve-wide event including one of these ships would be so low I'm surprised you haven't done it already.

On that note to my fellow players, is there a one off ship you've always wanted to see in game or do you have an idea for one you'd like to see, and how would you like it to be given away, found or won?

The rare and uncommon ships are cool, but they have no where near the effects to the community nor the excitement as the uber rare, except the AT rare ships during the tournaments. I wouldn't mind a GV for christmas either though :P especially if it was fitted with a full squadron of hellhound drones :P

Last I saw one on contract it was up to 30 billion.

Anyone seen a current price?

CCP has got it all wrong with using Aur clothes for displays of conspicuous consumption.

They want to drum up people using AUR: Start creating rare ships, only available through the NEX store.
And make the ships NOT OP.
No one would fly one anyway, but there are a ton of collectors willing to pour billions into stores to have one of 100 Golden Scorpions, or a Federate Issue Myrmidon.

Even better, create the ability to look in OTHER people's hangars, if that collector chooses to give the option, so the general public can view his toys, and feed the collector's epeen.

My favorite is the Frekki. If there was some kind of community wide event to score one I would mine that 1 trillion veldspar!

Selling limited run or rare ships through NEX would have less effect on the community than one available through an eve-wide event, and thus CCPs wallets. Unlimited run ships on the other hand with varying price tiers would suit what you suggest and is already planned, or was planned and I think would generate much more income for them than clothes do atm. The development time of unique clothes and character accessories versus alternate colour palettes mixed with their reluctance to do so without upgrading to the PGS texturing method is confusing.

Yup :P But I've seen people pay 250mil each for these babies - all of these plus the other two shuttles are available through missions (as ships of bpcs but you can't buy bpos for them. They'er only uncommon because they're completely useless to anyone except a collector. Infact, I missed the Revenant off the list.

I want CCP to immediately give everyone in Eve who was ever in the CSM a jump freighter that can use all cloaking modules and has unlimited hit points, 93 high slots, 200 medium slots and 400 low slots with no stacking penalties and the same nimbleness as a prowler.

It should also produce 1 million isk to the owner every 10 minutes, look like a giant talking taco and poop ice cream!

I love Battleships, I love the Megathron Hull and I'd love to have a 3 run BPC of the Megathron Federate Issue.

1 full Fed navy fitted -blasta's of course and bring it in to a big fight, take the best of it before it turns in space dust

1 full dead space fitted, always blasters, and roam with buddy's to be sure every potential target around knows I'm there and come for my ship, give them the biggest beaten of their lives or get beaten to death

1 Id keep, officer fit, and would be my "precious" until Eve servers shut down.

hmhmh it occured to me once during an incursion, it would be funny if once in every 1000 or so incursions an Imperial Navy Abaddon was present, if the Sansha destroy him his wreck should be blue and fit with a full compliment of Imp. Navy Mods. If he happens to survive the Snsha for X amount of time he should break under the pressure, eject from his ship and escape in his pod leaving his ship as free game to be entered from any pod close enough to occupy it, fully fit and ready to fight or escape...if you can :P
