Is it possible to have a "state" that was reactive like this? So If someone who is not on my OV agresses me then he will suddenly show up. Or if someone gets set as anchor or perhaps squad leader he will show up regardless of ship class. Would love to have this kind of functionality on states, is there a thread started already? Seems like something that must have come up.

one shall learn about overview config, state and background are the settings you are looking for regarding the one shooting you,.

either he is not on your OV because in your fleet / blue, and in combat there is no reason for it to appear, even i mistake is done (this would incure another mistake etc....)

or he is no in fleet / blue, then he could arlready be or not on OV (depends on his status, and your settings), but as soon as he shoot you, his state turns in a 'limited engagement'(and eventually suspect), so you can use this to make him flash / appear on OV

about anchor, i don't think it would be needed, but why not, thus i would say it is FC role to anchor you, not yours to anchor on him.

on broadcast side, broadcasted tgt already jump first on OV (plus get a inspace tag), again it is FC role to broadcast (or to designate a ppl to broadcast primary / secondary etc....), broadcast can be configured to show only the one you need to see, like combat ship doesn't need to see shield / armor / cap broadcast, or logi doesn't need primary and could focus on the reps they are supposed to give.

and broadcast could be configured as to be seen only by the intended wing etc....

so i would conclude like this:

1- use a correctly set overview for your fleet
2- use a correct broadcast config
3- have a correct fleet structure with FCs that does the job correctly

all the tools are already there, it's just a matter of using them on purpose!

ps: at first, i didn't saw you were CVAn i suggest you ask some FCs within your alliance, they will explain this to you, give you the OV config etc..... i'm sure they are able to

Do you mean that say I have a custom OV and someone not part of the settings starts shooting, me, he will show because of his aggression?

For example I have a custom setting that is frigs only. A BC starts shooting me, so then automatically shows in the OV?

Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the Lions will ignore you in the Savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless.

Only for the 2nd patch! The first one I reset =-P. I didnt lose a ship, we were just doing corp pvp to kind of figure out the changes. But it did get me thinking about my OV a bit.

Yes, like that. Seth had some good ideas that I'm going to try out. Although I still would like to be able to see anchors and designated players regardless of their ships.

if desiganted player is a target, then ALL the potential target shall already be on your OV(I.E any ships except the fleet / blue ones) or you obviously don't know how to eve.

but a target SHALL be broadcasted, because this make it easy for fleet members to focus it since:

1- it will come on top of PVP overview
2- a beacon will be on his ship inspace
3- it will appear as the most recent broadcast + in broadcast history for all the ppl on grid at the broadcast moment

understand that the main overview configurations used is standings, so if you choose not to show neuts / no standings on your PVP ov, you won't see em, but if your PVP ov isset to show suspect / criminal / limited engagement, then as soon as a neut gain at least one of those flags, he will show up on your OV.

only the standings / tag settings can make thing dynamicaly show / hide on an OV.

and you can use tab, so you can switch OV profile fast, a must have with some presets like default, pvp, celestials etc.....

regarding anchor pilot, it is a bad bad bad idea.

you don't need it on your OV cause in combat, unless you are logi, you shall not have any blue on your OV whatever the reason

if you absolutely want your anchor to be seen somewhere, add him and only him on your watchlist at TOP

but a capable FC will be the one making you anchor on him, without you needing to do anything, and HE will then manage range and stuf..

or for little roams, well you don't need anchor for thoses

all this should be the first step one learn when joining any serious low / null alliance / corp, even if he is not a pvp player, this is, with DSCAN usage, the basic mandatory tools to be able to use in those area.

it is not long to help a member do his OV config, take around 5-10 min max, and dscan for safety take another 5 min.
add 20-30 min to teach em how to FIND something with dscan, and you are done, this pilot is able to at least survive in low, provided he doesn't screw up
