well if you told me you were drowning, i would not lend a hand
i've seen your face before my friend, but i don't know if you know who i am
well i was there and i saw what you did, i saw it with my own two eyes
so you can wipe off that grin, i know where you've been
it's all been a pack of lies

And the reason that she loved him
Was the reason I loved him too
And he never wondered what was right or wrong
He just knew, he just knew

From your ankles up, you sure look sweet,
But from there on down, there's just too much feet.

Yes, your feets too big.
Don't want you, 'cause your feets too big.
Can't use you, 'cause your feets too big.
I hate you 'cause your feets too big.

it's a magnificent song. most people only see the surface lyrics and take that for the meaning of the tune. but trent used it as a metaphor to expose what he viewed as artist exploitation by record labels. of course i was like 6 or 7 when the song came out and i heard that explanation only much later. but after hearing it and listening to the song now it seems quite reasonable lol

now, on topic: hmm...last few tracks have been nothing but electronic music with no lyrics. nothing fresh in my mind to post

Sad

*shuffle a few times*

forget the time i said i would, replace that with "i never will,"
beyond the facts held in your face, ignore the facts beyond your nose
say it's too late, what a man's got, he'll learn to hate.

I got a little change in my pocket, goin' jing-a-ling-a-ling
Gonna call you on the the telephone, gonna give you a ring

Now that I got THAT out of the way, the reason I hate the song is that I had been listening to Pretty Hate Machine since it came out. When "Closer" was released, all these bandwagon fucktards would ask me if I had heard that new song by that "new band" Nine Inch Nails. Then said fucktards would commence singing just that one line over and over again. Inevitably the song would be referred to as the "**** me like an animal" song. I wanted to make their heads like a hole. Oh, and I pretty much didn't like the album Closer was on either. I thought it was "meh". Reznor has redeemed himself with more recent releases and I am glad to see he finally pulled his head out of his rectal orifice and went back to making good music again.

"The Song Remains The Same"

I had a dream. Crazy dream.
Anything I wanted to know, any place I needed to go

Hear my song. People won't you listen now? Sing along.
You don't know what you're missing now.
Any little song that you know
Everything that's small has to grow.
And it has to grow!

California sunlight, sweet Calcutta rain
Honolulu Starbright - the song remains the same.

Sing out Hare Hare, dance the Hoochie Koo.
City lights are oh so bright, as we go sliding... sliding... sliding through

Big smileBig smile

Oh, come on. It was the song Prince always wanted to write but never had the guts to.

We fired our cannons 'til the barrels melted down
so we grabbed an alligator and fired another round
we filled its head with cannonballs and powdered its behind
and when we touched the powder off the gator lost its mind

well, luckily i didn't have to endure that tripe lol

perhaps because of that fact i really enjoy "the downward spiral" in it's entirety. "a warm place," "eraser" and "reptile," ...those three songs in a row are like a trifecta of awesomeness rarely achieved in music imo. lol

With gold and silver I would support her, but I'll sing no more now till I get a drink
I'm drunk today and I'm seldom sober, a handsome rover from town to town
Ah, but I'm sick now, my days are numbered so come all ye young men and lay me down

He'll wrap you in his arms,
tell you that you've been a good boy
He'll rekindle all the dreams
it took you a lifetime to destroy
He'll reach deep into the hole,
heal your shrinking soul
Hey buddy, you know you're
never ever coming back
He's a god, he's a man,
he's a ghost, he's a guru
They're whispering his name
through this disappearing land
But hidden in his coat
is a red right hand
