Sov Propaganda?

I guess you could read these as musings or a general opinion or even just fantasy.

You could even pick through my post bit by bit until you find a spelling mistake or an extra space between two words in a sentence and flame me to kingdom come.

You could even see this post as a possible threat to your way of life in New Eden, to defend only by be-littling the author etc etc.

I will say that I am not aligned with any of these entites, but take an interest in whats going on, reading between the lines, andexpect no less than 0/10.

Let me start here with the current mass of forum posts about Sov mechanics.

Please note at this point there has been little comment from CCP - Which I believe is for the following reason.

PROPAGANDA.

At the moment we have 3 (or maybe only 2?) main entities in this sorry state of affairs HBC/CFC and Solar.

So we've all heard the supposed tinfoilhattery how CFC and HBC wont fight each other because of moon goo / RMT whatever... not getting into that discussion but would be a valid reson to the current state of affairs.

Also we are getting the hint that there may be too many idlle hands in the ranks of these two entities and need to keep them busy by 'WARGAMES' without any of the two main entites losing their isk nipples.

So all well and good. We have Greed shaping the blue donut except at the moment Solar seem to have rather a large bite of that.

...and heres the point to this oversimplification of the current situation....

Imagine this scenario..

Massive fleets engaging in a pre-arranged wargames, but no caps.
Why no caps? because someone wants to get the ball rolling but cant to full effect until any opposition and possible threat to cap fleets and SOV is out of the way.

So where is this story going?

Simple...

The Plan.

1. Instigate massive forum propaganda on how SOV bashing is far too much trouble and CCP needs to change - 'players against the man (CCP)'

2. Remove the only possible threat who could deploy a (non bluish) threat to our pretend wargames. (lolz at other entity dropping massive fleet just as a fight is finishing, depleting forces and cutting a path to our moons)

3. Keep control of all assets and because the population believe we are 'on their side' by getting rid of nasty sov. (remember no real CCP comment ;) )

4. Get complete control of who fights where, completely controlling the sandbox while keeping the playerbase believing they are 'free'.

4. Win eve completeley - in fact Run eve completely.

Now to many of us Eve is a game. We enjoy the fact that there is this sandbox where we can spend our free time enjoying a clean non-linear universe with no overbearing script.

So why all the propaganda.
Simple -

If it were just as clear as HBC/CFC(/PL) are trying to take complete control of nullsec to get very very rich - who would you fight for?

Remember it happened once before.

A long long time ago...

In a galaxy far, far away.

1. Trivially conclude that sov bashing indeed is far too much tedium for too little gain.
2. …and therefore don't do it.
3. Also, don't be stupid — if someone attacks, knock their block off.
4. Explain to CCP (some 3 years ago) why there's so little fighting in spite of their attempt to shake things up.
5. Nag CCP (starting some 3 years ago) to provide a good incentive to actually fight.

…et voilà, no propaganda needed, since it rather comes naturally and for completely logical causes.

I hear that people are trying to Conquer the Conquerable space, CCP should put a stop to that.

Because sandbox means that players can work together to do anything unless they are too good at it.

I don't see you as any possible threat to much of anything, but I will belittle the author.

It took you all the above quoted text of nonsense before you even started to get to your point. This is not how a good post is written.

Other major players in nullsec interests include the School of Applied Knowledge and the Center for Advanced Studies. Can't forget those, they seem to be important and highly involved in this whole discussion.

Top of the class, intelligent reply - thank you :).

Rest must try harder, although extra marks for Frying Doom and 'Tinfoil Battery' - I lolled :)

Your opinions are valued, please carry on - but try to stay on topic of the original post please.
Its not about the poster - but what he wrote ;)

Really, its not that hard - surely?

Many thanks

CFC and HBC won't be friendly forever. They were fighting for "good fights" but someone just retracted a promise not to take any sov.

Take it from someone who pays attention. You will shortly find yourself saying "Well that escalated quickly." I'd say, give it about a month.

and here we have a problem:
- Dronewar 2011-2012
- Delve 2012
(this is only wars i'm actually aware of)

There was actually lots of fights. But then - territory claimed and SOV became unplayable.

If the sov powers won't fight for our amusement what will we possibly do to entertain ourselves?

Are people truly buttmad over the fact that other people having enough friends to control vast swaths of space?

You know, I wrote some :words:, but I think I'll leave this pertinent question:

OP, do you really believe the current sov system is not objectively terrible?

Delve 2012 was 2 battles and then all opposition collapsed. Dronewar? Now that is an oddity because the russian is an extraordinary creature who harbors an intense amount of hatred, especially for other russians.
