CCP should give us the day it will be released on tbh.

I'm more curious on what will be in it, then when.

I'd imagine the significance of May 6 isn't lost on CCP's marketing people Blink

Giving exact dates for expansions, months in advance, is a VERY bad business practice. Look at Retribution 1.1 even. They told us the date less than a month in advance, and were still a week off in when it came out, and that was a sub-expansion.

No thankyou, to exact dates. They force product to be rushed out to stop the complaints of the hordes who will cry that the patch is late.

An alternative could be stating that the expansion will be released no earlier than BLANK. That way people know that they have until that time to get their skills up to par for the switch. Developers won't be rushed either because there still isn't a release date to work under.

Isn't telling you that it is slated for May, enough for you already?

Where does it say that it's slated for May, other than in OP's link, which is an ETA (ESTIMATED time of arrival) based on no more information than anyone else here has?

Note the stated ETA for the Winter expansion was early by a month on that page.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

While true, 6 May marks the 10th Anniversary of the game ... so, good day to throw an expansion Smile

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

i think they shouldn't even give a timeframe like "summer".
i think they should just release it when it's done without a word, and just let you log in one day to find the expansion is there.

they've been doing the expansions every 6 mos for the last 10 years .... seems to be working fine (except incarna)

Or they could plan a bunch of celebratory stuff inside/outside the game around May 6th and end the celebrations with the release of the expansion as the last big bang. That way they get some leeway with the expansion release date while still tying it in with the 10th year anniversary.
