@CCP: If a player won lottery, and donated a huge amount, what would you work on?

Just wondering. Personally, if i won like £32m i'd happily donate at least £1m to CCP, if for no other reason than to show my everlasting love and support for a game i love!

BUT! If CCP suddenly got such a cash injection, what would CCP employees want to spend it working on? I'm curious as to the misty-eyed, "if i won the lottery" thoughts of CCP employees! :)

They could probably pay off some of their debts. If you're a big company, there's always some hole that needs filling with millions of bank notes.

What would they be working on? A suntan! Blink

Seriously though, this idea was bounced around the forums quite a bit lately. Especially by the folks that want WiS. The idea is simple - open a kickstarter page, something like "WiS for EVE". And let people put their money where their mouths are. If enough people fork over the dough, they can hire the staff they need and get it done in a reasonable amount of time, delivering actual content.

If I had 32 million pounds I'd simply buy a large stake in CCP and assume dictatorial control.

Id make them make a light carrier, that can use jumpgates, and deploy 5 fighters in highsec.

for me, no one else.

Its not a matter of money! Christ... rolling subscriptions for software for goodness sake, its THE dream business model.

Addictive, minimal material cost, rolling fee's and a dominant monopoly in the industry. It's like selling meth, only legal and easier.

*I* would donate for that if I won the lottery... yet of course, with the condition that CCP developed WiS my way. Twisted

Which is why I woud hate anyone else giving them money to develop WiS how *they* wanted. Players becoming developers invariably end in games like Civilization V. Ugh

things have to be for sale for you to buy them lol

plus for a company that has about 70million in yearly rev, you'd be lucky to get much for that Roll

CCP would blow 1/2 of it in a sub par FPS that's 3 game generations behind in technology, graphics and physics than other games in the genre while only being available on a console that dies this year thanks to the new playstation being sold. They'd also blow a 1/4 of it in a WOW vampire clone that'll flop before it even hits the shelf. The other 1/4 will go on redundancy payments to staff that they have to lay off.

There might be chump change to spend on staff days out to boost moral after their world falls to ****.

Pretty sure anyone who has been to Fanfest or on the CSM will understand this: Hand grenades. Lots and lots of alcoholic hand grenades.

p.s. if you have no idea what that is and are coming to Fanfest... this is going to be fun. Twisted

plus i have to say if you hit the jackpot and wanted to give a portion away, i'd hope you'd find more worthy causes to give a donation to than CCP! Smile

If I won enough then..... AGGRESSIVE TAKE OVER \o/

Call my self an "investor" then phone them weekly to ***** about my money not making a good enough return.
Then ask them why wow's so successful and why they aren't making the game more like that because that game makes loads of money.
Then call them back and tell them how much money CoD has made and how they should do that.
Then call them back and point at assassin's creed\mario\movie tie ins etc etc etc etc.
Then call them back and switch what I want them to do.
Then call them back to demand why they aren't doing what I tell them as "I'M THE INVESTOR!!!!"

Wooo being an investor \o/

When i donate £1million which of course will happen soon as i have a good feeling about this weekend Big smile

I would like to see the option of moving items out of the EVE window to my second monitor..then CCP can spend anything lest on a big party just for making me happy, but i would want the big party to be broadcasted TwistedTwisted

If CCP didn't have too much 'honour' they'd do this. I'd definitely donate to see WiS finished.

Revenue yes, but their profit was reportedly only around $5 million in 2010, so even with growth 32 million pounds is about 5 to 8 years profits.

Fan fest ticket sales cover the cost of fan fest entirely? or is some eve subscription fee's used to cover parts as well? I'm not trolling like my last post ;) I'm just wondering?
