I know plenty of people don't use the eve audio system, which is a shame to me because I enjoy the sounds of my enemies being shot to pieces. But what I don't enjoy is that to turn on the sounds of guns firing and ships exploding I have to turn on station sounds and ambiance. While it can be pleasant on one account once you open up a second or third of 6 like I do. You get this assault on the senses that makes turn off audio completely because you can't hear ANYTHING over it. I feel there should be more audio options to turn off the station ambiance while leaving the gun turrets and explosions. Who else agrees?

CCP got one thing right - there is no sound in space. Pirate

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Better audio settings would be great! The ability to change them without needed to go to the ESC menu would be nice as well.

Aww damn, c'mon isd. We all know nobody reads this thread =D Anyway say he "eve has sound?" posts a mile away lol. Though I'm sure a lot more people would KNOW that eve has sounds if they could exclude the unpleasant sounds and enjoy the ones that make you laugh and giggle with glee as your enemies pee xD

I would actually consider turning my sounds back on if this was implemented.

I am the only one who doesn't have this problem? I turned the ambient/station sound down all the way...

This also affects other sounds you might actually want tho to.

As a temporary measure you can toggle sound on and off after docking and it won't continue to play ambient sounds until you undock again but its far from ideal.

As someone who multiboxes more control over sound would be great especially station sounds, whoever came up with the Amarr station ambience is either a sucker for punishment or has never actual spent any time docked with it :S

Undock, you won't hear turret sounds or really anything worth hearing other than ui warnings and such. The "world" sound slider adjusts the sound of ambiance, turret sounds, your ships propulsion, and ship explosions. Heck some times I think ship propulsion isn't loud enough and neither are ship explosions but if I turn up world settings I have to contend with 6 clients worth of background ambiance noise. It's like white noise at that point. Not to mention listening to teamspeak, and ship ui sounds. The only adjustable setting is the level of ship turret sounds, and that's a two setting option based on the check box "quieter turret sounds" Which I obviously have turned off because I enjoy the turret sounds and it allows me to turn down the world slider more while still hearing the pew pew.

Many other people would probably do the same here.

I know of this short term fix, I really only use it when I'm recording a video or narration. But the fix is undone once you undock and dock again... Like you said really far from ideal.

Hopefully I can get more supporters on this topic, I know many of you do not listen to audio at all so this makes it kind of hard to get people supporting a simple audio settings change.

I have just got my Domi to do level 4 missions.
I have to say from 100K away i cant hear any ship explosions
and if i want to head the weapon sounds i have to zoom right in.
I tough it was because i was using ****** USB headphones but now that i just got a Sound Blaster ZrX i Realised that eve sound just suck so bad!!

At least Let us hear the weapon sounds and the explosions of the stuff we kill. Playing in silence takes half of the fun away!!
