Faction Warefare mission rat aggo on friendlies

Please Fix this, Before the A.I changes faction warfare mission NPC's did NOT aggro friendly players and im sick of in game GM's teling me other wise.

i lost a ship to friendly rats killing me, petitioned it and got it back showing that something is wrong somewhere.

This mechanic currently makes it a lot less risky to to run FW missions as if you point a player 99% of the time the rat will switch aggro you you and kill you while the player you pointed warps off laughing.

FW is broken enough as it is and this just tops it off for me.

There is no fighting in the majority of plex's with cloaky stabbed ships running the plex's like before

CCP's aim was to stop this and it has'nt worked and throw in the NPC rat aggro to friendlies and you will see why the war zones are quiet right now

Seconded.

When you warp into a mission in friendly space you are saving the npc's (which are on the same side as you) from a wt, who ever decided it was a great idea to program these rats to attack the friendly that attacking the WT currently blowing up all there mates is quite ********.

Please fix

They are shooting you because standing tank had been fixed. Had it not been fixed, they wouldn't be shooting you. And this happened long before Retribution, btw.Cool

He's referring to the old practice of using characters with positive faction standings to tun FW missions against that same faction. That allowed them to blitz missions with little risk and prompted CCP to change the mechanic, making rats aggress anyone and everyone regardless of standings.

The fix was supposed to be that rats would take account of militia first. If it's doing anything else, submit a bug, not a petition. Perhaps even send a mail/tweet to Fozzie with the bug id # for him to look into.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

well glad someone explained it,

so ccp couldnt fix something so they broke it more as the fix... right

No. They weren't shooting you before because they weren't switching aggro before.

Your new entitlement = right back to standing tanking.

the point is that the "standing tanking" issue has been fixed without thinking about the consequences of the fix. (if you can even consider "ok let them just shoot everyone" as a fix for something)

standing tanking wouldn't be possible in the first place if the NPCs would show any form of simulated intelligence. But they sadly have none. If i would be a npc protecting a fellow npc hauler and a friendly player makes one hauler explode after the other, i would consider killing the SB together with my fellow remaining NPCs. As intelligent NPC, i wouldn't suddenly switch to a random target while there is someone in the mission who is killing my primary objective.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

It's pretty stupid if working as intended, e-war is going to make all the rats switch to you, which actually is giving the advantage to the person running the mission.

I can live with the fact the forces you are allied with attack you, while it does seem a little ********, it's a game mechanic thing. The fact the every single rat is going to shoot at you is just unfair, unless you fly something very well tanked you are going to lose your ship or be forced to warp out shortly after applying web/scram, at least that is my experience with the harder missions.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

i am not mad, i agree with the OP that the change did not solve anything. The side effect of the fix creates a situation which is worse than before. We had low risk farming before, now its zero risk farming. But its probably pointless to explain that to you since all you did in this thread so far was to troll around.

There is no "side effect," only intended effect. What you want = bringing back standing tank. The change was intended to make this impossible, and it did. We had zero effort farming before, and it was fixed. Any questions?Lol

Your argument is bad, and you should feel bad. Whether the effect is "intended" or not, obviously OP thinks it should be changed.

I agree with him. Its ridiculous to chase a WT into a mission and immediately attacked without taking any action against the NPCs in the plex.

If you are chasing a WT into a mission the NPC's (who are fighting for the same ppl you are) should NOT attack you. They should be thanking you for your help to chase off/kill the WT.

The fix changed the basic npc AI but for the FW aspect it should take into account militia status NOT faction standing. This would fix it properly and make mission running what it should be - dangerous.
