Hey, I've played EvE on and off(mostly off) since 2005 and am coming back from a rather long break now.

Many things seem to have changed both visually and functionally, but what I needed a bit of advice with is direction.

I seem to recall I had 3 choices.. Nighthawk, Marauder or Navy Raven. The only thing I'm really interested in is faster and more efficient mission running. I did worlds collide 4 last night and dang near got blown up in my current raven, had full pocket aggro after warping in and webbed.

So, if anyone can recommend a direction for me, that'd be awesome.

Currently training towards Nighthawk just to have something training, most of my meaningful raven skills are already V, so not much to do there.

Forget the Nigthhawk for a bit, its just "old" stile ( and pretty outdated , rebelancing coming someone say )

With your skills, i will really look to 2 ships:
1) Navy Raven with cruise missiles ( see about the Rigor rigs )
2) Golem with torpedos ( train for target painters )

From 2005 to today many things are changed:
Tier 2 battlecruisers outdated the pvE command ships
( maybe not, but a lot easy to train and no worth the xtra isk )
revamp or torpedos/cruise missiles ( No more "precision torpedos" )
introductions of Tech 3 cruisers ( becoming a nice all-around for Caldari, even for lvl 4 )
and , as you already noted , tech 2 BSs ( maraurders )

You are already pretty good on drones without the sentry skill, i will give it a shot
( every non Machariel pilot love to have they ready )
If you like they then a Rattlesnake is already 85% skill ready for you

There was a major change to NPC AI with Retribution. Dev blogs:

The short description is that they took some of the Sleeper AI and dialed it down a bit and replaced existing NPC AI with that.

Looking at your skills, you've already got Battlecruiser 5. You may wish to consider getting Destroyer 5 before the summer skill change. Details with some side-by-side before and after screenshots of skill prereqs:
