What to do about missiles?

I'm doing lvl3-4 missions atm, and mostly I'm fine because only a few will be in range to attack me at any one time. But once in a while there's a mission with 30+ missile cruisers with more than 100k range. I can't outrange them, dodge them or tank them, is there any other tactic that works?

What are you flying?

Also, double check the mission to make sure you aren't killing the trigger ships and adding more waves onto yourself.

Missiles do damage based on a target's speed and signature radius, so fast and small targets take far less damage. Also consider that modules such as micro warp drives and shield extenders cause you to have a much higher sig radius, leading to incoming missiles having a higher chance to apply full damage

2 things,

1) are your core / Deence skills on a sufficiant level?

2) Are you aware of (EVE survival / EVE Wiki) how to manage Agro, so you're not attacked by the entire room?

Using the right kind of tank is pretty important
Active, Passive, Buffer & Spider tanks all have thier respective uses, the last 2 don't work so well in regular missions
(Google ---> Eve Online Tanking 101)

Having the correct resistance mods really helps aswell.
Stacking EM resists vs Serpentis ships doesnt really help, but it does help against bloodraiders.

The already mentioned eve-survival site will give you that information in the opening lines of info.
It is an IGB (In Game Browser) friendly site.

Google --> Eve Online [your text here] can answer a lot of questions.

enjoy

Also, some missions are not meant to be fought; if the mission specifically tells you that all you have to do is "scout" and then get out, then they'll reinforce it by continual spawns of more and more and more nasty enemies. You're supposed to take in an afterburned frigate, which will have huge damage reduction to big missiles, and you're supposed to "scout" fast and GTFO.

Otherwise, a spawn like that is where HACs shine - with its resists, smaller size, and afterburned speed, an Ishtar has the tank and damage projection of a Dominix - better, actually, if you manage to kill all the NPC frigates first; big weapons just don't hit it for enough damage.

You shouldn't have to face them all at once, unless you hit the triggers, or did something to pull aggro.

I usually pull everything and snipe with a Raven from 105 km (mission NPC can't hit past about 90 km), but that takes experience. Adding a Micro Jump Drive makes it really trivial now, but I don't bother to use one and just use an AB instead. I can turn-off my hardeners at that range and save capacitor.

I've experienced (several times recently) that the NPC named Zor in 'Right Hand of Zazzmatazz, Level 4' can hit pretty well out past 125km and if you don't warp in with your Raven under 100km to take him out first it makes things a lot harder in the long run.

I'm sure there are exceptions, but the point is that not all the ships in the room will be hitting you.

I warp to zero on all missions, then move away from the crowd. Typically that means dragging the the initial-agro group with me. Webifiers are of course a priority. 'Right Hand of Zazzmatazz, Level 4' has so few ships that they are destroyed long before I could get to range,
