When I logged in today I got a notification that a bounty was placed on me. I don't know this person and have never meet him. Do some people just randomly place bounties on others or is something personal? I noticed in his Bio that he has over a billion isk bounty on himself. It was just a 111,111 bounty he put on me but I don't understand why.

1. Yes bounties are given randomly by people. Some care and whine about some dont. Please be the latter.

2. Bounties dont change the aggression mechanics nor CONCORD response. All the do is pay the guy some ISK (1/5 of you loss value) when he kills you.

I had one put on me today by someone who killed me in a gate camp 3 weeks ago!!! I was in my Mackinaw...never mind whining?...As a miner it's f****** annoying and should be banned if it's done without reason..

Prepare to be spammed with bounties now.

Is it a typical highsec carebearing thing to be annoyed by something that doesnt matter.
Bounties in highsec is doing jack **** to anything. It doesnt make you a target more then without a bounty nor does it matter to your safety.

To clarify some of the reasoning behind everyone bounty-ing everyone else, bounty max payout is a fraction of the value of the ship destroyed, so if everyone has bounties it effectively gives a small, continuous cash flow for PvP.

Basically it makes small-scale PvP (where you tend to win and lose in similar measure) a lot less of a money sink than usual.

Also, bountying people is funny.
