Pilot Count (%)
1. Space Otichoda 9961 (31.33%)

Math was never my strongest point, but that is way to obvious. 415 times per hour. 6 times per minute. (assuming he's there for 24 hours.)

Slightly more often - must account for downtime.
Impressive.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

It takes about 2 sec to realize that it's a macro and not a person, his posting timers every 6s is (I would like to claim) impossible to carry out for a person for that duration. Even some small CCP tool could spot those and ban instantly if they wanted.

Damn. Wormhole ate my post.

Anyway, as I was trying to say... His (its?) frequency is impressive, compared to most other apparent macros. Makes him an A1 target for the banhammer. If CCP banned spambots, that is.

Tbf, Amarr has had an increase of players that appear to be using Macros/Bots
I'd imagine the other hubs might be the same also?

End of the day, many players will do whatever they think they can get away with, and the block list is only a stop-gap since alot of alts are recycled every couple of weeks

As usual, the best manner in which to force CCP to do something about an obvious problem like this is to publicly humiliate them with some bad press.

Chribba, don't be so nice about all this. Go talk to The Mittani or someone else who writes for themittani.com. Get an article up, and let people know CCP is blatantly ignoring bots in the most populated system in the game.

Fully agree.

Yeah like http://themittani.com/features/chribbas-jita-spam-bot-research which sadly did not produce the amount of lowering of spam we could have hoped for. But hopefully the lack is a build up to something way bigger and more automatic. Can only hope.

The straydog1 guy isn't really a scammer. He's an RMT spamming bot.

CCP is sending a clear message, through their very long inaction to stop this behavior, that RMT'ing and botting is ok now.

Lets be honest, we all know it's happening
CCP know it's happening
We know that they know it's happening
They know that we know it's happening

Yet nothing seems to happen

Of course, we know even if CCP does warn/suspend/ban all the obvious ones, it'll lead to the more complicated ones becoming common place
There are a few 'bots' that will spam local, but each message will be slightly different (basically I'm guessing the bot/macro has a large list of messages and it randomly picks one and posts it, and it wouldn't be hard to ensure repeats don't happen)

Plausible.

Alternatively; more spambots, posting less frequently. Which wouldn't help the population situation any, to be sure.
