What changes would you like to see in game and how do you think this would affect the shard.

Are there any changes that you would like to see in game and what do you think the affect on the whole of New Eden would be.

Im always hearing people asking for changes but they never seem to have any awareness to how it will affect the game as a whole.

Here are some easy examples that ive heard.

1. Hulks should have 8 highslots and a much larger cargo bay.
Result. The price of minerals falls through the floor as there are far more on the market. The cost of tech 1 ships decrease
auto destruct is profitable again until insurance rebalanced. so is suicide ganking

2. Nullsec should have ways to mine far more effectlively in ways that are not allowed in highsec (this is being considered)
Result.

(i).The vast amount of minerals that are shipped from highsec to nullsec decreases and highsec mineral prices sharply decline.
(ii). Price of ABC decline as it can be mined at a much faster rate

3. dramiel nerfed, gallente buffed.
result. Firetail becomes the new dramiel.

4. removed level 4 missions from highsec
Larger portion of the casual player base quits.
people forced into low/nullsec
many plex characters quit do to lack of funds.
New players arrive who have no knowledge of level 4 missions.

There are loads more that are obvious but i would rather people cite their own examples instead of arguing with mine

Question

What changes would you like to see and how do you think it would affect the game as a whole.

I see what you did there.

I'd like to see the CCP development team get back on the tried and true course of making their own plans, their own priorities and their own vision of this game so I can get what I'm paying for, which is NOT some random player's vision of "the perfect game." A much more orderly and comprehensive refinement of the game will then ensue.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Although I get your point, you'd have to agree that player feedback is a substantial part of the development process. Blink

I somehow get the idea this truism is supposed to be agreed to without restraint. However, after many years experience in various sorts of games, I'm more than well aware that games are filled with self-appointed geniuses who speak with little factual basis, but a great deal of confidence. Yes, player input - this isn't working, that isn't working...ta da ta da. "What would make this game perfect..." No thank you please, it only makes me sneeze. (Thanks Ringo.)

If this crew I've paid a few thousand dollars to cannot, on their own of their own volition do its job without kibbutzing from amateurs, then I guess I've wasted a ton of money. The great "however" here is, such is not the case. CCP is good at what they do. I'm interested in seeing THEM do it.

Gentlemen im there with the pair of you.

let the CCP development team do their thing but have them playing the game as well across all different aspects.

the player base is a mass of voices only a few of which have any validity but they take the place of the CCP team that should be playing their own game.

As a casual high-sec noob, I'd quite like to see a change not to the game itself, but to in-game support, in the form of a mentor or coach in the noob-schools. Whether CCP or player-organised, don't know, but someone that encourages and arranges ops, to get players together. (I hear CAS has something like this, and months ago, I heard the occasional op being organised in SAK, but SAK's gone rather quiet recently.)

I think at the moment, noob-schools encourage individual play, not team play (with the exception of the highly-motivated, of course). Some of us (me!) need a good kick in the balls to help us realise this is an MMO, and that the "real" EVE involves working with others to achieve something.

If players get involved in team activities earlier on, it should help with player retention, encourage them to get into a player corp earlier, which may even encourage them to try nullsec earlier.

But, I can't find my goddamn balls, so I'll guess I'll just wither away in this place for a while... Sad

The change to EVE I would like to see would be the expansion of space by adding a large number of new systems. More empire space, more lowsec space, more nullsec and wormhole systems.

The EVE universe is getting too crowded.
