Since I so love to tease you guys just let me say that one of the ships listed in this thread is actually getting a makeover for Winter.

You're welcome Smile

My many thanks to CCP Nav ( 07 )for making my originally bland and somewhat boring thread explode with interest and energy. lol. That tease of yours sure got the juices flowing.

I personally hope the new makeover is the Typhoon. However logic tells me it's the Raven.

For Amarr ships, the Crucifier need fixing. Its the only majorly messed up ships for the Amarr, and doesn't follow their design philosophy at all.

It would be nice (in a role-playing sense) that any ships CCP redesigns is released as a version 2.0 while those that own the original 1.0 would have a "collector's item".

I support this ^^
Even ready to buy old Scorpion for aurum, just to have and spin it in my hangar. Cry

I hope its the Moa, there are a buttload of hulls based on it and it's a horrible ship.

It's Condor/Crow hull.
Also current Moa is beautiful and original. And USS Enterprise is piece of ugly symmetrical spacejunk Twisted

gah *twitch* never mess with Star Trek in a space MMO.

The Moa is original, I'll give you that, but beautiful it is not; unless someone rammed a railroad spike through your eye as a child and killed any and all design sensibilities you might have had. Symmetry is associated with beauty, and most easily associated with when it's bilateral symmetry.

The Drake is one of the worst looking ships in the game. Besides being more overplayed than the latest Black Eyed Peas single, its appearance is more akin to a white soggy cardboard box.

It would be much harder to hate the Drake if it wasn't so damn ugly. I can't wait to start watching them get alpha'd left and right once the new BC's are released!

I'd love to see a drake redesign, yes, but it's pretty low on my list of ships to get redesigned... The only real reason I would want to see it redesigned would be so we could get those actually visible missile turrets...

There's a whole crap ton of gallente ships that need to look less like flying shoes or extruded turds and more like spaceships.
The Raven would be nice to see an update on (it just doesn't look like a battleship, it looks like a big toy). Pretty much the entire Caldari cruiser line-up needs work,
The tempest and the phoon need some love.
The prophecy and apoc just bug me...

Given the Drake is the Honda civic of Eve, it's supposed to be ugly.

Indeed this is good piece of art, but I still hope that CCP devs not making all ship revamps equal to making them symmetrical.

Another Caldari remake?? What the hell?

You know, that is a fitting analogy. I just wish real civics came with a shield and a bunch of missile launchers... It would make my morning commute waaayy more awesome.

Of the three Minmatar battleships, the Maelstrom is the least in need of a makeover. From ugliest to least ugliest, the Minmatar battleships follow their tier numbers.

Oh yea, right. You must be one of those who think that beauty should be standardized.
Look at the mirror. If your face is 100% symmetrical (including anatomy, skin texture, scars, birthmarks, hair) then you are japanese robot.
If not (just like most normal people) then you are not beautiful?

I dont see any reasons why new Scorpion, Crow or any other Caldari ship should be revamped in symmetrical manner. EVE ships can't fly in atmosphere anyway and there is no practical reasons to add "second wing" in design.

My "extreme makeover" wish list would be:
1. Moa
2. Bellicose
3. Tempest

also nominated:
* removal of the growth on the right side of the Omen
* the cut-in-half Crucifier and Aeon - please add the other half

I don't think that any of the ships in the game really need a full redesign (I happen to like the Osprey actually!); however, there are several that look as if they were hastily modeled and textured when Trinity came out, and have blurry/misaligned textures that are ugly to look at when you zoom in on the ship.

These include:

Dominix
Megathron
Raven/Golem/Navy Raven variants... Although this ship does look pretty horrible anyway and always has.

Back end of end of the Hurricane (if you look at the old one, you can see that the texture is actually sharper/more detailed. While not as technologically advanced, it's clear more work went into the old model).

'fans' on a lot of T2 minmatar ships (wolf, vaga, hound) are somewhat pixellated.

There are others, and I am sure CCP is working on all of them gradually one by one, as evidenced by the Scorp and the new Maller model, which are both excellent. The T3 models are very detailed and sharp as well. As long as they continue to put out that quality of work, I don't really care how long it takes them.

I keep seeing Caldari pilots complaining about the look of the Raven. I really can't understand why - it's one of the best looking ships in the Caldari repertoire.
Its the silly spikes under the wing and the tiny bridge. I would be glad with a Raven redesign, but.....

Moa needs it more, its current look doesn't show any functionality.

If its the Condor/Crow (as seen in that youtube link), then I am changing my skill plan for it, as before it was too ugly for me to use.

I may be a bit controversial here. I think supercarriers need to be made simply physically larger. To reflect their build requirements over carriers and dreads. I think a 30% size buff would be appropriate.

I drain ducks of their moisture for sustenance.

Hopefully it's not a horrible makeover like what happened to the Scorpion.

Same here, it wasn't too bad but still a bit meh .. what's wrong with flying ships just for the aesthetic thrill of it??! P

And I need a 4th launcher slot on the Crow - much like my Crusader has 4 turret slots!
