Hello,

With the new Dueling features i was wondering what ship loadouts you think would be best to duel with. I realize as im typing this 1 ship isnt good in all situations but still gonna post anyhow and see where this goes.

If you know what your opponent is flying ahead of time (and, more importantly, how it's fit), then the obvious move would be to counter it. If you don't, look through any number of 'favorite/best solo ships' thread and fly one of those.

Use the meta game. When you encounter someone sitting outside of a station offering duels do a quick KB search to see what they've lost to and what they are fit with.

well il borrow the thread and do a quick question. what happens in this scenario?

Pilot A asks Pilot B to duel, Pilot B accepts.
Fight starts between Pilot A and pilot B
Both scram and web eatchothers.
40km away a neutral logi decloaks and puts reps on pilot B.

what happens?

I'm pretty sure neutral logi gets a suspect timer and can be engaged by anybody at all. And of course people being the way they are, as long as somebody's close enough to see that they're suspect, they'll gladly go in to get a free killmail.

In reality, that never happens. Highseccers have this fear of baits boarding on paranoia.

Huh. Seems strange that one would fear that. What's the worst that can happen? You get baited and lose something you could already afford to lose, and you have a little fun doing it. And perhaps take something out with you.

I hate dueling.

Grow balls and venture out of hisec.

ps: Try matching your resists to their weapon system if its obvious.

You overestimate the value of a km. Why would someone go out of their way, take a risk, to help you, at no benefit to themselves?Roll

Logi doesn't decloak, it warps in.

Is their something stopping the logi using 2 warp stabs and sensor boosters?. It's not like he needs cap for long.

I think duelling is misleading, because you're not duelling, you're opening yourself up to that player and anyone in his fleet. It should be called pvpp flag or something. As it's called duelling, CONCORD should interact should either party gain a repper or has fleet bonuses. Might encourage a duel rather than a small fleet of ancillaries helping out your opponent.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

you accept duel with someone, everyone in hes fleet cannot shoot you? otherwise dueling would be broken or a warning should show upp how many you will be fighting, otherwise a t1 frig will ask for a t3 or cynabal or something to duel, and 10people will gank him.

I understand that the initial flag is set between only two players, but quickly one player could receive help. That's not duelling.

Dueling was great the first night. Everyone was trying it and I got my first 1v1 KMs.

Last night I turned the auto-decline on. I'm never looking back.

Even if you can assume that the pilot challenging you isn't getting OGB or perpetrating other shenanigans described by previous posters, whoever issues a duel challenge expects to win. You have to rate the chances that you know better than he. Seems to me only the sharks are challenging anyone now.
