I tried to quit once, and just couldn't. Despite the huge periods of mindless tedium I remembered, a friend's stories of PVP encounters eventually made me come back to the game. It's been a while since then, but I wonder... why do we find ourselves so addicted to a game that makes us wait sometimes up to hundreds of hours before that brief adrenaline thrill? Certainly, mining makes the dull hours so much more entertaining, but still...

Any thoughts?

You don't want to know what we're all thinking right now after reading your post Shocked

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Friends are the major element that tie me to this game. Some of them I would be able to contact outside of game, but I don't think it would be quite the same.

Also, big ships. In SPACE. (OMGOMGOMG I'M IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE) Generally speaking, I find Eve more exciting than mundane everyday life.

Thanks for the input. I think that's generally what keeps me playing, too.

Because of CCP Tuxford's Falcon.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

maybe because people invested too much real money, their time, responsibilities and sacrifices they can't just walk away from.

This game is almost like a casino gambling addiction, you put too much into that machine so you wait and figure you're going to get something out of it eventually.

Though anyone can just quit if you will it, but people love the game or are gradually getting ready to leave, or just temporarily quit for a time. now that ship spinning is returned, things are normalizing, enjoy

It's exactly the waiting. Tension creates the drama, there is no real climax without proper buildup.
