Hello there fellow capsuleers!

So i recently got back into EVE , i was addicted to it for over a year but now im back which means my personal life is over xD

Anyhow i fell in love with the new ship the Algos and i would love to hear some suggestion on a fitting focused primarily on PVE for now , i want my role to be long range + drone attacks combined with high DPS . My current fitting is giving me 97.5 DPS and my optimal range is around 7,000 , its doing good damage and sometimes instant effect on frigates but soon i want make a push towards more advanced missions..

I already checked Battleclinic and most of the fittings posted there are focused on PVP so figured i'd post here and see what you recommend , also keep in mind that my skills are fairly low when posting recommendations.

Current fitting ( keep in mind that it was done without much planning or a detailed research)

5X 125mm Prototype Gauss Gun ( Caldari Navy Charges -S )

1 Medium Shield Booster I
1MN Afterburner

Damage Control I
Drone Damage Amplifier I
Small Armor Repairer I

Thank you

I haven't built one of those yet, but I can tell you right away to drop the shield booster.

NEVER mix shield and armor tanking, use one or the other and with gallente boats is almost always going to be armor due to bonuses and an abundance of low slots. By running 2 tanks you have a gimped shield defence and a gimped armor defence and only half your tanking mods help you at a time. If you focus all of your tanking mods on armor for instance you will be able to apply the entirety for your tank when you start taking armor damage leading to better survival.

For now just replace the shield booster with a cap recharge to let you run the armor rep more often

An adaptive energized nano membrane (EANM) will give a better omni armour-tank than the damage control
+5% to each armour resist over the DC.

if your armour tanking, your shield is a buffer that IS going to fail
if your armour tanking, you should have warped out BEFORE you started losing structure

if your skills are a little low, click on the hud options (the little square on the bottom right) and change your low-armour warning threshold by increasing it by 5%, or 10% .. or by whatever you need, then slowly over time reduce it back down as you gain confidence, skills and PvE experience/knowledge.

A million thank you for the replies and the help you provided , i actually learned new things from your posts and i appreciate that!

I will drop the current fitting and go for the one posted below and of course make a few re-adjustments to maximize the role that im going for.

Thanks again Blink

I am also a noob, I tried to follow the afore mentioned fitting but when I fit the MWD and/or Aarmor Repairer I got Capacitor depleted. How to avoid that. At the moment I have to use afterburner and leave one low power slot empty and the capacitor charge rate is in the green.

Advise would be greatly appreciated.

u get red cap because it means if u use all activatables constant it will deplete , but u don't actually need to keep in mind of that because u will not use the mwd constant , u will not use all modules at the same time constant , so that is , for pve atleast relative .

And i dunno if u actually need a mwd for missions though ..

I'd go for blasters instead of rails. The drones can do ranged targets while the extra dps is useful up close

My 0.2¢ is the other guy is correct lose one of the reppers, which one depending also on skills, say if you're SB skills are much stronger then AR then maybe SB on a ship who's race primarily is an armor based platform may be viable.

Try a AB instead of a MWD you'll be much more stable.

Drone damage mods are great.

Fill drone bay with hobgoblins but leave room for 5 salvage drones (if you salvage).

Depending on where you mission keep a sensor booster with script just incase you get damped to death and a tracking enhancement mod for that occasion too, think of it as you would like carrying ammo.

Also iron charges will give you a range boost incase you were using antimatter and sometimes range is better...think "the thief "
Mission.

You don't need to be stable, just turn the MWD and/or reps off when you are out of range. You do have to keep range with an MWD though, as a scram will kill it. Limiting your escape options severely

The fit with a single DC2 and repper with T2 rails was my PvE ship through level 2 security missions. Drones were my primary weapon system and the rails allowed me to stay far away. Once I got to level three I had to move into the BC.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.
