What else Can I use to increase Solo yield?

Hello I"m curious to what else I can use to increase my solo yield on one of my miners in terms of skills and items

He has
Astrogeology 5
Mining Barge 5
Exhumer 5
Mining 5
Mining Upgrades 4
All ore at Processing 4 - for Tech 2 Crystals
*EDIT* Mining Drones IV *EDIT*

While being in a in either a Mack or Hulk Using T2 Strip Miners with T2 Crystals and Mining Laser Upgrades 2
The only thing I can think of is plugging in one of those Slot 10 Highwall Mining implants.

Highwall implant, Michii implant (expensive) and Orca/Rorq boosts.

If you don't use mining drones, maybe look into that. You can also add T2 Mining drone rigs for more yield on drones. It's not insignificant.

Allright thanks is that about it the implants?
Am I nearing the max that he'll be able to yield alone without a mining boost?

Also no I don't really use drones never found them to be a significant as wouldn't Mining Drones II x5 only be another 125m3 of ore? or those really expensive harvester mining drones be 150m3 for x5

Not saying it's not good advice I forgot too mention he has Mining Drone IV as well so I could get the Tech II drones in abit.

hulk will beat the mack on yield. though it has a smaller bay, so unless you jetcan, it'll eat yield.

No I know I realize what with the mack holding 35000 and the hulk only 8500 the hulk can't even hold 2 cycles of all 3 strip miner 2's I use it when the corp wants to do a mining fleet I was mostly just wondering if there was some other skill or Item I could use to increase the yield because someone else in the corp has gone up the miner foreman and director training and ORCA support so I didn't feel like doing that and was curious if I was missing some skill or item but seems like those 2 implants are the last thing *freaking michii being 1.1 billion* and some drones.

Well, along the drone route get Mining Drone to lvl 5 so you can use Tech II drones and level up Drone Interfacing.

**Playing EVE at times feels like putting a 10000 piece puzzle together, enjoying the accomplishment of succedding in completing it, then having some random stranger walk by and flip your table over. **

Tell me where you mine and I will give you free boost. That way you are still solo.

mining foreman V. (i think that's the correct skill)

as long as you're in a fleet with some one, any one, you'll still give yourself 10% mining bonus.
i always used to abuse that in 0.0 when the fleet had free move on, i'd slip myself in to a group with people in the same system as me and me and the ratters would enjoy a 10% mining bonus.

Agreed, Mining Foreman is good 2% more yield per level, not helpful for ice, but good for ore.

However pretty much all of the level 1 leadership skills are handy, if only to reduce the likelihood of getting ganked.
Armoured Warfare - 2% more Armour HP per level (more buffer HP is always good)
Siege Warfare - 2% more Shield HP per level (more buffer HP is always good)
Skirmish Warfare - 2% better Agility per level (better align speed is always good)

orca with a shield resist link and the appropriate skills at V, even without a siege warfare link is still a very good investment. i made sure i trained it for my orca pilot.

but that's largely irrelevant to this thread.

Drones are not just 125m3, with maxed drone skills including drone interfacing 5 and a full rack of drone mining augmenter rigs a flight of 5 Mining drone II's ads over 400m3/min not allowing for travel time.

Look at it this way. With max skills, implants, drones, everything.

Solo the best a HULK can do is about 1700m3/min including drones

With maxed fleet/Orca boosts a HULK can pull in over 3000m3/min including drones

If you are really serious about mining as a career in EVE you need to get yourself an ORCA boost.

There are several ways to do this as a solo player.

Join a mining corp that offers boosts without expecting much in return. There are many that run their own fleets that will gladly let you join without costing you anything. they already field the Orca for there own use, adding another to the fleet costs them nothing.

Keep your solo corp and join an industrial alliance that offers ORCA boosts. You keep your own corp, stay in control, and still get the boosts.

Join some of the mining chat channels and make some friends. There are open mining ops that will let you join their fleet and get full boosts at little cost to yourself. A maxed ORCA boost adds about 60% to your yield. even if you give half of that "extra" to the fleet to pay for boosts, you still get 30% more than you would if running solo.

Most solo miners multibox. Personally I have 4 accounts and when I mine I run my own fleets with ORCA boost. I am still playing solo, but managing 4 accounts takes some of the boredom away when mining, increases security (20 drones for defense), and the income from mutiboxing mining stacks much better then mutiboxing combat.

In my experience with two accounts, mission running still makes more isk. With 3 accounts mission running and mining is about even. With 4 accounts mining makes more isk than mission running. With 4 accounts I make about 100M per hour mining, while using a multiboxed fleet to run missions I only make about 80M per hour. And I do not yet have a MAX boost orca pilot.

If you can average 6 hours mining per week you can pay for all 4 accounts with PLEX. If you average 10 hours a week you can PLEX all 4 accounts and put over 1.5 Billion isk in you pocket by the end of the month.

Michi implant is from a caldari COSMOS mission. It is a level 4 missions on a high sec island. i.e. you have to go through low sec to get there. But the mission itself is not so hard if you read up on it. You will want to do it in a fleet though, as the local pirates know players go there specifically for that mission, and will try to gank you and steal the implant as you leave thru low sec. It is easy to get, just hard to hang onto while you get it back to high sec. That is why it is so expensive. It is not a random drop, at least as far as I know, you will always get it from this mission. you get the mission from "Zabon Michi" at the "Rush Town Ruins" beacon in Otomainen. It is a high sec system, but the only way to get to it is through low sec. It is a 3 missions chain ending in a 3 stage combat mission. All missions are within the system, so you only need to get in and out once. The reward for the last mission in the chain is the "Michi excavation augmenter" and a decent caldari faction boost. It is very easy with a 2-3 man fleet, just make sure you scout the low sec system and watch for gankers. They will usually target you on the way out of Otomainen not on the way in.
