Where's the dislike button? I want to try it on your post.

The "hide posts" button is sooo much more useful Cool

The 'hide' button is a great idea

Akita you'll be proud to hear you're my first .. Lol

Just a pity I can't hide the entire depressing post and all the others you and your ilk make.

Not sure if this is the place to collect complaints, but another thread has noticed that you can't follow external links from the in-game browser.
Nothing spells 'fail' better than not supporting your own browser.

Of course, it's easy to see how the devs could miss that. After all, starting up the in-game browser requires logging into the game, and all that annoying confusing space s**t getting in the way of what you really want to do, which of course is social networking.

It's an issue that has been known since… oh, I don't know, when they first tested the new forums… in February(?)

It's the standard problem for this forum: they've needlessly and pointlessly attached javascript to alter the basic functionality of the browser, and in the process breaks that functionality unless the browser lets you turn javascript off or filter out the offending file (either of which will break a number of other forum features such as search…).

They would have had to log in to the game to test it. I don't think anybody at CCP logs in anymore.

I have rarely have seen a bad Akita T thread or even post. Sadly this is one.

Did you really just assume that the majority of users don't like the new forums simply because you don't like them for some random technical reasons?

They are shiny and they work. That's all that's really needed.

They are certainly not shiny and it is still has not been proven that the forum work correctly. I give it about a week before another security fail including javascript come around.

If we're going to use that analogy then I could easily say that your old car may work, but it's gotta go to the shop much more frequently than a new, 21st century car.

I like the new forums, the old one was good don't get me wrong but this one works better on the phone and gets the job done.

You certainly don't speak on my behalf when you slate the new one you may not like it that doesn't mean everyone else doesn't.

As I'm new the old forums haven't grown on me, but even to me this new forum is a step backwards. All the avatars are way too big and the spacing is all weird.

Also, it seems as if I can't create a URL in my signature?

I get that, and I know the new forums aren't perfect, but does anyone realize how much the other forums sucked? Good results take time and it's great for Akita to have input, but it couldn't hurt to be a little more constructive and little less personally offended when CCP finally gets on the right track.

I really, really hate the old forums. They were awful and seemed like nothing more than a featureless, naked version of phpBB. That's my opinion. My opinion is that it is good the old, terrible forums are being abandoned and the new, beautiful forums with a few little and some serious things that need to be fixed. As it is, in my opiniony opinion, that these forums are a vast, huge, megalithic improvement over the horrible horrible old forums.

You are overextending the analogy. Analogies are never perfect

My only complaint about the forums is that the layout is fixed, and thus does not automatically adjust itself to the user's window.

Aside from that, the new forums are fine, IMO - if a little light on some of the old forum's bbcode features.

For their marketing strategy, their forum are genious! They decided to recreate Facebook! with Spaceship! WOW! All those big pictures! This is what facebooker look!

But still...they didn't through that it's not because Facebook work that you need to copy them. Personnally I don't have a Facebook account and I don't want one, even if its about Avatars playing spaceship games.

I think CCP missed something there with all this EvE gate stuff.

So you don't have a facebook account? Maybe that's why you fail to see how little common it has with this.

Yes, a "Like" button. Without that people would write stupid "+1" and clutter threads with those empty posts.

The new forums are terribroke, and here we are nearly on page 6 discussing that concept. So, I'm not seeing the anti-forum argument.

Regardless, CCP has proven historically that they don't care about aesthetic complaints (see in-game UI).

They will only respond to security threats. To that end, the OP proposes a reasonable albeit anarchic solution if you accept his POV.

Currently, does anyone know if CCP care about anything other than the other games they are developping?
